Being shit in this game thus far (and we have been), doesn't change that we were decent in the group, does it?

The Albion's poor performance at Rotherham away last season didn't suddenly mean the unbeaten run was shit.

The biggest failing in this tournament for England so far seems to be Joe Bloody Hart.

I think you're fighting a losing battle here, Boz.

We've been rubbish. 3 goals in 225 minutes against weak, weak sides.
Seeing as you specifically mentioned Belgium, I'm happy to suggest that they are in fact lightyears ahead of us (despite a poor result in their first game).

England have been very poor throughout the tournament.

Drew with a very poor Russian team

Very lucky to beat Wales in what was a derby

Lucky to draw with Slovakia who were hammered over the weekend by Belgium.

England may not have lost a game up to now - but they have been one of the poorest qualifiers from the group stage.

England can still win this game but they will need to up their play big time in the second half (yesterday Ireland played France off the pitch in the first half and then Comas replaced Kante - let's see if Wiltshire can do the same job for England)

We failed to beat Russia and Slovakia. Scored a last minute winner against Wales. Yeah superb.

Oy, leave it out. He's Head and Shoulders above the rest.

Probably fair to say that France won't be feeling the need for any additional training sessions at the moment to cope with England's 'threat'.

But as I said previously, we weren't good in the group stage. We were rank average against two awful and one equally average/poor side in Wales.

The only reason Rooney looked ok in the group stage was the standard of the opposition and Hodgson's insistence on picking him was always going to lead to this. This has been coming.

To the "England have been shit" crowd...

Wow. You really think England have been 'shit'? Far, far better than any tournament since 2002 I'd say. Not many teams looking better as OP says. Played without fear and with passion, which is what people are always calling for surely? Yes, criticise the manager for the changes vs Slovak, our lack of taking chances, our tempo (AT TIMES) and our inability to break down 11 men camped in their 3rd of the field = fine, but to suggest we've been shit is surely more blinkered?! Take away results and finishing and our overall play has been up there with the best, no question. Yes we'll probably lose to France in the 1/4s on their patch but we've certainly looked better than we have for a long, long time. And we always qualify outstandingly these days, let's not forget that.

As for the others being 'shit' as well - you are hard to please. Maybe our dominance of the ball MADE them look hugely restricted. Just because Slovakia SOUND shit, it doesn't mean they are - maybe brush up on their recent results?

Agree. It's annoying but people keep quoting 'Spain, Germany, France, Italy. etc when in reality it will probably just mean a trickier semi final ON PAPER if we were to get there. The others are going to be knocking eachother out along the way and I don't see a big difference in Belgium and France if we get to the 1/4s. People are lining up Hodgson to take the flack before the knockout stage has even started. I sort of understand it, but not many will bother to break it down like the above.

Absolutely dominated all 3 games no question. Anyone saying otherwise is deluded. All 3 teams have set up to draw against us too which makes it very difficult. Yes, we need to up the tempo at times and find a way to break teams down, but there's only been one side trying to play football in all 3 games - some people just love to moan about their country for some bizarre reason.

So Mr Condescending England Super Fan, any comments?

I actually watch a heck of a lot of European football, more than the premier league, so I was well aware of Slovakia's results and players and yes I knew they and Russia were awful.

I also knew that England had been very poor and were never going to get very far in this tournament with Roy in charge and Rooney in the team. I was also enitled to voice that opinion which I'm sorry to say proved to be so very true.

he was probably watching the games where we were decent but couldnt find a result. tonight we were naive, nervous and well short of the sum of the parts, with out pace or intent. different. still it gives the boo boys something to really enjoy, so some are happy.

Who's naive??!

Come on, there can be no defence for our performance in this tournament. The boo's are fully justified.
