Great afternoon at the Enclosed Ground

Whitehawk vs Gosport

Missed penalty
19 man stand off after Torres was hacked down
3 goals to the Hawks. The first one was a delightful dink over the keeper.

Beaminster, Dorset
Bristol Rovers 3-0 Cambridge.

Credit to Darrell Clarke (he probably only kept his job because they had no money to sack him); got the team back from the graveyard of the National League after going down on last day of 13/14 season and set them up for a second promo push. Club recently bought by a Jordanian who is going to pay for the new ground (Mem in premiership of shocking grounds for away supporters) near M4/M32. This is a championship club waiting to happen. Really surprised Matty Taylor has not been snapped up, rather hoped we might have shown some interest.

Enjoyed the Grimsby v Wrexham game, some good football played by the Mariners in the first half and a great goal scored by Craig Disley. Second half was more of a battle with Wrexham coming more into the game but Grimsby hung on for a hard fought win.

Ok so I embellished it a little ;-)

He got caught in a fairly innocuous tackle, SCREAMED and the kicked out at the Gosport player. Then everyone bar a couple of players rushed in.

Certainly added to the entertainment :)

Hastings
Hastings Utd 6 v Peacehaven 0. Medlock got 5 and should have had at least 2 more. Most enjoyable afternoon. 624 attendance.

Crawley 0 Exeter City 2
Two exseagulls on show: Shamir Fenelon (Crawley), Ryan Harley (Exeter).
Fenelon named Crawley MOM but they were so bad he probably got that for having his boots tied properly.
Exeter played some nice stuff at times, Ollie Watkins one for the future.

Watched Worthing v Walton Casuals this afternoon, couple of cold beers prematch, Worthing, captained by Gary Elphick, played into a strong headwind in the first half, they scored early on with a cracking move, Walton preferred playing with the wind and scored twice before half time. Very decent chilli burger and fries at half time for £4.80. The sun was shining, high hopes for the second half, sadly was not to be, final score 1-2.
Woodside Road is a fairly decent place to watch a game, the standard of football belies their position in the 8th tier of English football, and the 3G pitch contributes to keeping the game moving, thoroughly recommend it if the Albion aren't playing, or are away and you want a footie fix.

Sutton United 2 Whitehawk 2

Whitehawk two up after an hour against the run of play. Good equalisers from Sutton who hit the post from a free kick in extra time.

Scrappy game, sooo much hoof and hope, can't wait to be back at Falmer...
