It is a gripping series. Looking forward to next week's feature-length finale :)

When I get the time, I want to start watching some of the other international shows that are being shown on C4. Kabul Kitchen looks ace.

Yet again for dramatic effect our spy hero would have been caught in the real world, but is allowed to complete his journey. Thought the ending was disappointing, it will be interesting to see how the Night Manager compares as a spy series when it hits TV shortly.

Don't even have that luxury. I'll be downloading it and watching it over 2 Victoria to Brighton commutes. Although if recent events are anything to go by I could probably end up doing it in 1 commute!

Shall miss my sunday night favourite waste of time. More of a bonkers cold war super-soap than a serious spy drama, it remained ridiculously addictive throughout and was the perfect antidote to Call The Midwife. Nice one Walter!

I noticed that and Mrs Gwylan thought I was being too geeky about it. Glad to see that I wasn't the only one

The question we were debating is who died at the end? The general or Alex? That was a Sopranos' like ending and strangely unsatisfying (Mrs G and I both thought Alex but there's clearly an opinion that it was the general)

But why? Because his wife had left him? Because his son was a lousy soldier? Seems a bit flimsy to me

His missus left him. His son batted for the other side in multiple ways. Martin/Moritz betrayed him AND was giving his daughter a seeing-to. All that and trying to come to terms with Diet Coke also.
There's only so much a man can take :moo:

This is my life too. Really enjoyed it but can't decide who shot himself at the end. Anyone started watching 'Trapped' yet? Any good?

He didn't know about the daughter - he'd just seen them snogging, But the Diet Coke was obviously a major factor
Alex had AIDS so topped himself, obvious

He didn't know that though - it took about a week for results to come through. I thought it was because he was conflicted about his role in the army and his relationship with his dad. His split up with Tischbier and most importantly, the betrayal by the one person he did look up to - 'honest' Martin/Moritz. And then he comes home to a house without his mum, the one person who looked out for him. It was all too much
