Swindon, but used to be Manila
You are quite correct that season ticket holders may not turn up, I didn't because I can't do weekday game, so my revenue is collected anyway. But I am not spending probably 20/30 quid on the tills either, which is more than my season ticket matchday price. How many of me are in the same situation? I hate our fixtures being moved, I haven't missed a Saturday home game this season, but when they start f'cking with the dates they f'ck with mine and many more people's plans. If we were making a significant profit from these televised games, as the Prem teams do, then fine, but we aren't.
Not missed a home game all season..
Dont spend anything on the overpriced crap on the concourse.......cant drink have to drive,

Everyone hates Dirty Leeds, thats a given.

But I totally understand their ire at CONSTANTLY being picked for Sky games and having their fixtures frigged about with as a consequence. I know I get royally macked off at our own 3pm games that get shunted, and Leeds seem to have bundles of theirs re-arranged because Sky seem to have a perpetual hard-on for them, even though they've got F-all to play for (as usual). And we have our own knock-on in that our 3pm v Leeds is now on a fricking MONDAY, which is a pile of shit.

I'm glad that nutter Cellino is kicking off about it. IMO he has every right.

Not sure itll improve if he wins though. He will just get his own way and negotiate a.separate tv deal which if anything would lead to more changes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, despite their owner being a complete buffoon I can understand the reasons behind this. Championship clubs are making nothing out of these live games from what I can gather, it is a total shambles.

Errr......they make about £100-120k a game.

He's not going to though. I do have sympathy for his view but he's going the wrong way about changing: the argument is with the other clubs in the FL who have signed the agreement. If he doesn't want to go along with the FL agreement, that's fine: resign membership and negotiate a separate TV deal for their Northern Premier League games. Or, alternatively argue the case for individual rights at the next FL meeting.

But accepting membership of the FL and then trying to weasel out of commitments makes him appear like a complete cockwomble

Even though Leeds's commitments seem considerably more than the rest of the division ? Seems like they're on almost every other week, its almost become a standing joke.

You've only got to see the grizzles on here over our games being switched to appreciate why Leeds must get macked off at so many of their fixtures being switched. Jesus, imagine if they ever actually manage to threaten the top 6, we'd be seeing them literally every week.

.

Well yes. As part of their membership of the FL, Leeds have agreed to abide by what the TV companies want... even if that meant they were on every week.

As I said, if they don't like it, the place to argue is the FL itself not the courts. If he felt that strongly, why not insert a clause in the contract specifying a maximum number of games one club could be featured. Or one that says if a game is selected at less than a month's notice the fee is doubled ... or some additional clauses. Those are items that may get some support, maybe not.

But stamping your feet like a two-year-old is not the way to go about it

Yes. In this case (and in this case only) go Leeds go!

Don't understand why people support the idea of Leeds being able to negotiate their own contract? Most people moan about the fact that the lions share of tv money goes to the premier league. Would it be better if the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool etc negotiate their own deal as happens, I believe, with Barcelona and Real Madrid. If it happens, it will just widen the financial gap between the haves and have nots.

edit: Of course GT49er might be referring to the Monday night match but that isn't clear!)

Hmmm.... the Leeds owners might not be the sort of people we want involved with our football, but if they can take on Sky about shoving matches to all sorts of inconvenient times for the fans, just to fit in with their TV schedules - then go, Leeds, go!

So that whichever tv company Leeds sign a contraxt with to show their games can.shaft fans by moving games around instead?

Just checked my research notes. It's £100-120k as the match fee. Varies according to kick off time.

Any chance you could post exactly what the fees are for the different kick-off times? I've looked for this info online in the past and never been able to find it.

Is that when one takes into consideration the lost revenue from merchandise and bar sales from the reduced attendance?

That's the gross fee.

The lost revenue is dependent on the degree of fanaticism of the fans of individual clubs.

Would also have to take into consideration the extra advertising revenue pitch side due to having a TV audience.

Sorry, I'd be strung up by the goolies for giving away too much info.
