He looked great yesterday. There's been a lot made of the striker, and hopefully we will get one, but I honestly think the signing of Knockaert could be the difference. He looks excellent value for the £2 million we supposedly paid for him.

Made me think of Vicente.....I can't be the only one?!?

Said exactly the same thing yesterday. I love players with that mixture of confidence, pace and skill.

Easily MoM yesterday and that's despite the occasional errors that he made. If we did sneak promotion this year he strikes me, on yesterday's evidence, as a player who could make the step up.

I just hope when he has a dip in form he doesn't become the new Lewis Dunk to our reverend NSC posters.

He's only 24, and three years ago played in the French u-21s.

France U21
4-4-2
1 Ali Ahamada
2 Sebastien Corchia (c)
3 Chris Mavinga
4 Raphael Varane [real Madrid]
5 Eliaquim Mangala [man city]
6 Yann M'Vila
7 Remy Cabella
8 Josuha Guilavogui
10 Vincent Pajot
11 Anthony Knockaert
9 Alexandre Lacazette [Lyon]

Some top, top players in that team and Pogba probably wasn't far off either. Knockeart has bags of potential and I predict we'll sell for a profit (£4m) in about two years whether we're promoted or not. Exciting times.

Yep, 4th. place going into February. I'm welling up already!

Well baited ..... and was waiting for a quoted response and the subsequent school boy error battering .... shame really

An excellent debut.

Did anyone else see him on the train from Falmer to Brighton at around chucking out time from the North Stand?

He seems to have that Vicente art of not being particularly fast but glides by defenders with skill. VERY excited by the thought of him and Kaz as wingers.

Exactly what I was going to say - must have that same awareness of what space to run into and when, as he seems to eat up the ground damn quickly for someone who isn't "pacy". Quite an impressive quality.

The best home debut for some considerable time. Absolutely Superb !!!!

Since Abdul Razak, perhaps!?

The best player IMHO we have signed since moving to the Amex in fact, since Zamora the first time round.

Steady on! Vicente was on a different planet - Knockaert may very well be a better SIGNING, as he'll actually PLAY, but when Vicente made it onto the pitch he was utterly untouchable. Of the current squad, Beram Kayal is an absolutely FANTASTIC footballer. If Knockaert proves to be even BETTER, we are in for exciting times.

He seems to have struck up an understanding with BZ already too. Apart from the goal there were couple of other quality interchanges between them.

Interesting. I'd say exactly the opposite. They are NOT yet able to read each other, which is why Zamora was caught offside in goals-scoring positions, three times in ten first-half minutes. Once they sort that out, we're in proper business.

Don't think it'll take them long to sort it out either - Knocky seems like a smart player and we know BZ is.

Just fine tuning, even though he may have been offside Knocky was finding him and BZ knew where to go, to me that is striking up an understanding. For a first home game together I thought it looked very promising. The through ball for the goal was inch perfect and the volley was also perfection. Been a long time since the Albion scored goals like that.

Absolutely, and it bodes well. A couple of times AK held on to the ball fractionally too long, thus the offsides. Once Zamora gets to know AK's game, he'll sort out the timing of his runs. Bingo.

One down side was an attack in yhe 1st half when he beat about 3 players and I thought he should have kept the ball and go for goal , but he chose to pass to BZ who was offside.
