the new crest - hand-picked by chairman Dejphon Chansiri to signify his first full calendar year at the Hillsborough helm - will take pride of place on the Owls’ first team shirts during the 2016/17 campaign.

Which we all know translates as, I see this as an opportunity to fleece our loyal supporters to replace every clothing item they have with the old badge on.

Looks like a mixed reception and also seems like an old crest.

True enough. I didn't see much wrong with our old one either, when we replaced it upon our move to the Amex in 2011/12.

I guess the club were keen to get back to something like our original badge, albeit with the seagull facing in the opposite direction.

It's a reworking of the clubs first ever badge, so given it's their 150th Anniversary next year makes a lot of sense if idea is to also go with a retro style kit

That's based on their original club badge. I remember a similar design in the mid-1960s. For me it's better than their current Specsavers one.
