Extend a few loans? As far as I know Wilsons is for the season anyway unless recalled. Van La Parras is until Jan 2nd. A few normally means more than 2. Who are our other loanees for whom deals can be extended

Extend La Parras and just maybe get one more.

This is a great question. Here's hoping the club are on it, like they were in the summer. The need is very, very apparent...

We already have a striker, winger, left back/centre half and goalscoring midfielder lined up for early January......Balldock,Lua Lua,Ridgewell and Towell....not a bad start.

After the season we've had so far, can't see Tony not splashing the cash. Next season will be even harder to get promoted if the likes of Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa end up getting relegated. The competition is much more even in the Championship this season.

It seems that our entire budget may go on a single risky striker bid, I fear our present form will deter someone like him from signing.....rethink needed.

I'd much rather we bid half the amount on Ulloa who we know can cut it in this league

or in Barber language

"Rest assured, that our chairman, myself and our recruitment team, led by Paul Winstanley, will be working as hard as possible in the next month to support Chris, his staff and our squad by strengthening in key areas from , as Tony has already said, a position of relative strength.

The January window is however, notoriously difficult for a range of fairly obvious reasons but much work has already been done to identify key targets and lay important ground work. We also know that our main rivals will also be looking to strengthen their own squads so we may well face stiff competition off the pitch, as well as on it in the next few weeks

via Ipswich programme.

So that's a no for early signings and a maybe for any?

I read it as the strongest indication that we will make signings in January window of any time in Barber/Bloom era. There's the usual caveats, "stiff competition..as hard as possible...notoriously difficult" but they are usually even more cautious about January business. "Generally January is not a place I like to do business " is Bloom's usual mantra.

Paradoxically we've done our best business in the last 3 seasons in January.
Ulloa/Upson, Stevens, Kayal...

Got complete confidence in Chris Hughton as a thoroughbred footballing man to have already identified his targets and made them known to the board. Unlike the Fantasy Football Database muppets we had in place this time last year. If thje board have any sense or any ambition at all to be promoted this season, they'll listen to the man.

I wish I shared your confidence. He has, admitedly, got us in a position none of us anticipated at the start of the season but I am still not confident.

What would it take to turn your confidence around then? Just about every hotshot high-profile manager this season is struggling to retain their credibility.
