What's all that about?
More people cycling means less cars and/or more space on the train. Everyone's a winner.
Not if they put a bike on the train which takes up the space 4 people could stand in.
A cyclist that stops at red lights, blimey, never thought I'd see such a thing, judging by what I see in London every day.
I enjoyed the cycle last night as well, also back to Hangleton in the strong wind. I contemplated taking on Coldean Lane and showing it who is boss, but I decided to leave it and not start anything I couldn't finish.
The tape around my handlebars is coming off though, another negative review of Cyclestore on London Road I'm afraid, they've lost me now. Too many sloppy performances from them now, the handlebar tape lasted a few weeks, the chain wasn't properly oiled after a service, the gears needed to be "amended" after the same service and finally, they didn't fully pump the front tyre when a puncture got repaired. Sloppy work, Boris deserves better!
I am anti cyclists but have no objection to anybody cycling to The Amex providing they dont put their bike on the trains, which are all nearly full.
I've got every right to put my bike on a train should there be a space in the bike rack. Did you fall of your Raleigh Chopper as a kid or something?
Seconded. Always done a good job for me too.Southcoastbikes will sort you - excellent service
Really? The way cars zoom up and down Coldean Lane would put me right off attempting that.I contemplated taking on Coldean Lane and showing it who is boss, but I decided to leave it and not start anything I couldn't finish.
A word to the wise, well to be precise 3 words:-^ So it's the bikes on trains things that makes you "anti-cyclist" then BensGranda? Southern banned bikes on peak trains many years ago. When I used to commute to London I had to buy a Brompton so I could continue to cycle to Hove and from London Bridge, and vice versa. Understandable as commuter trains are now so crowded.
I thought I'd bump this thread to see how folk are getting on with their Amex cycling commutes. Any issues with getting away with the crowds? Cycle parking? It's time I started looking at doing this from Shoreham. I reckon I could comfortably do it in just over an hour using the seafront to the pier (40 minutes) and then up via the level and Lewes Road (20-25 minutes anybody?) What's the best way from the stadium to say, the Coldean Lane traffic lights? After that I'm pretty much sorted.
Done it twice. It is a bloody nightmare, not relaxing at all.
Roger that Stat BrotherA word to the wise, well to be precise 3 words:-
Just don't bother.
I am anti cyclists cos I got fined 5s in 1956 for riding on the pavement doing my paper round. Now I take my life in my hand walking to or from
Princess Royal Hospital or to the town via Franklynn Rd due to cyclists riding on the pavements at speed.
You should try walking in the dedicated cycle paths because cyclists NEVER use these so you'll be cyclist free and safe.
