say what you like about the German sense of humour but the, i'm assuming, predominantly English contributors to this thread have shown a staggering inability to execute a basic knock-knock joke.

The great thing about this time of year is that you can slam your laptop shut when the missus walks into the room and you dont get a disgusted look !

German : My dog has no nose.

Friend : How does he smell ?

German : As he breathes in, the air although it cannot be filtered through his cilia nasal hairs the air still passes through a thick layer of mucous to the olfactory bulb. There the smells are recognized because each smell molecule fits into a nerve cell like a lock and key. Then the cells send signals along your olfactory nerve to the brain. At the brain, they are interpreted as either a sweet smell or whatever aroma is given off by the particular food or substance.

Bloke I worked with in Germany was called Achim. When I first met him, I asked him if he came from Turkish family, based on his name and look. He went ****ing mental haha Nein! I am German. Achim is short for Joachim...... Who knew?
Foreign names have many twists and turns.

German Hospital press release: Sadly Michael Schumacher's condition hasn't improved. He's still an arrogant ****.

This has made me chuckle out loud.

Since we can't decide which country owns "Hans":

I've removed all north European friends from my mobile. My address books is pretty much empty* now.

*except a few French people , 2 Italians and 3 Spaniards

It sounds top drawer now.
