Been a while since we took 4k away, when was the last time?
Having small away ends in the south doesn't help...
Fulham is a new big away end
Reading we normally get midweek or on sky and it's still a 180 mile round trip
Charlton was the only regular big away end
Defo more than 4K at Fulham as apparently reading had 3600 and the neutral area was really sparse and I saw a fair few empties in the reading end...weird.

Having the other 3 nearest in different divs doesn't either

Last time we played them we were truely woeful.

Let's hope we are as good tomorrow, as we were bad last season.

A bit of a negative view, but I got a feeling its all going to start going wrong soon.

The last 3 games haven't been convincing, and with injuries starting to bite and tough fixtures over the next few weeks, the bubble may burst.

Hope I'm wrong of course.

Will be taking off from Chicago about 3.15 am UK time - landing at LHR at about 10.30 - should be able to get to Reading for kick off.

My lad just bought a ticket over the phone for a friend is has decided to come with us.

Phone answered immediately and a proper phone number (none of our 0844 shenanigans).

They also said there should be a very limited number on sale at the ground from 1230.

Notice Reading have just released another small block next to us for home fans - clearly going to be a very big crowd (by their standards!)

Who else went to the old Elm Park? Reading is all a bit meh and they always have been. Brighton as a place has changed hugely over the years, but Brighton historically was a working class bedsit town until the 80's and whose "inhabitants look as if they are helping police with enquiries" as it was famously described. Reading also dont get support from lots of surrounding ports and towns in the same way Brighton have always done. It may have a similar country support though. The only real similarity between Reading and a Brighton is that they are both historically unsuccessful clubs, but that can be said of many many football clubs. As an aside I got talking to the Bradford Chairman last night who is down in London for their game at Millwall today. What a great bloke. Born and bred Bradford fan who supported them at school (when most were following Leeds) because his aunty took him. He just happened to do well for himself. Bradford's only trophy came a year after our 1910 Charity Shield, they won the cup in 1911.

I think that's just the natural state of a football fan who really cares about their team.

I'm a bit the same, 7 out of the next 9 against teams in the top 10 is a real test and we are without key players already.

But let's see what we can do. If we are even joint-top by December 19th or within a point or two I will think we have a real chance.

The good thing is that, especially after last season and at odds with what Reading fans are saying, I don't think there is any arrogance at all among proper Albion fans. Most of us are surprised if pleased at the start, but also realistic. We haven't been putting teams away 3 and 4, we weren't among the favourites, we know there's a long way to go and it's one of the most difficult leagues to get out of.
