Petition: Arrest Tony Blair for war crimes........

That point can be argued later in Parliament if it gets to 100,000 signatures.

At this stage I don’t think it is a good reason to not sign because the sentiment is the same with or without that sentence.

I beg to differ on your point though because everything was contained and just needed nursing.

Blair had two options;

a) Throw caution to the wind and go to war without a UN mandate with all the consequences of destroying a country and the voluntary killing of thousands of innocent people, men, women and children in so called collateral damage for the sake of one man?

b) or use that already weakened one man, and by diplomatic means to assert democratic reforms?
SWP clap trap !

The fascist dictator who the US, UK and France supplied weapons to in the Iran Iraq war, and the chemical weapons he used against the Kurds.

That old chestnut eh, we armed Saddam. Actually, the countries that supplied Saddam with the most weapons were France, Russia, China and the Czech Republic. The US supplied him with 0.5% of his weapons. Don't let facts get in the way of a good old fashioned conspiracy.

Don't be an arrogant pedantic cvnt, I didn't word it, it’s not my petition, but thousands of coalition soldiers died along with hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.

All you are doing is picking on the use of words which I have no control over. As soon as you see something that may not be 100% factually correct you are very quick to slip up your own Ar5e and get all righteous about it.

You posted it so I assume it was fair to jump to the conclusion you endorsed it. The wording said 'thousands of our soldiers', no mention they were referring the coalition. Normally when you refer to our troops most people take that to mean UK armed forces. You accuse Blair of using smokescreens and lies but isn't that exactly what you have done (sorry, I meant the person who posted the petition)!!!

They were all at it. It doesn't matter how much or how little countries supported him they still did. I mentioned France and I seem to remember that it was their wmd that was used on the Kurds.

Here is a list of countries who did business with and supported a fascist dictator.

Austria
Brazil
Canada
People's Republic of China
Denmark
Egypt
France
East Germany
West Germany
Hungary
Israel
Italy
Japan
Jordan
Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Republic of Korea
Kuwait
Libya
Pakistan
Poland
Portugal
Qatar
Romania
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
South Africa
Soviet Union
Spain
Syria
Sweden
Switzerland
United Arab Emirates
United Kingdom
United States

Disagreeing is one thing but starting with pig ignorant imbecile is a bit OTT.

I am only endorsing the sentiment and intention of the petition, it now has over 11,000 and I am happy to help it even if the phrasing is sloppy. I can't change that.

Well I'm sorry if it touched a nerve. Perhaps you should be a little more careful when re-posting false information. The petition makes no reference to coalition forces, so the fact that it is exaggerating the servicemen fatalities strikes me as a) using their deaths to score political points and, probably more importantly, b) it does a disservice to those that did lose their lives.

I am not and never have been a Blair supporter but this is absolutely ridiculous the PM has to act in the best interests of the nation.

Poppycock, he is only interested in himself and cementing his name in history, but it back fired, interests of a nation my arse.
He should face trial, along with Bushy, but with their combined IQ I doubt that they will be legible to take the stand.

It astonishes me that people genuinely feel they have to demonise Blair and make him pay for war crimes.
I didn't agree with the war, I don't agree in militrary action in general.
However Blair was the PM at the time. Whoever had been in the seat at the time would have made the same call. It's part of the job. Blaming one man for the decision and holding him responsible for the war is naive.

F**king around with political regimes of other countries,is the cause of so many problems within the world. Everyone knows that, but it doesn't ever stop the super powers from flexing their muscles and getting involved.
Obviously it's about oil. There are countless African dictators who have never had to fear any intervention into their regimes.

The whole subject is just too depressing.

That I agree with, but the implication is that we, ie. the UK and the USA solely armed Iraq. Then when we got bored of Saddam we turned on him and removed him from power. That is the narrative that the majority seem to believe. The vast, vast majority of his weapons came from the Soviet Union, China and France. We supplied less than 0.5%, the USA even less. Our sales were insignificant. Surely you can see the difference?

Official UK Government and Parliament Petition.

Arrest Tony Blair for war crimes in the middle east and misleading the public.

Tony Blair led us into a war, using lies and deception, resulting in the death of thousands of our soldiers and hundreds of thousands of civilians. His actions have given rise to instability in the region and terror groups the freedom to rise. He should be arrested and put in prison.

At 10,000 signatures, government will respond to this petition

At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament

Are you going to support the same for John Major and Thatcher aswell?

That is just not correct. Robin Cook if he had been PM would not have. He resigned from the cabinet over the issue, as did Claire Short.

Also Jacques Chirac (and France) chose not to go to war against Iraq

Signed. This was a malicious war of choice, thousands died (conservative estimate), millions displaced from their homes and the world has still not recovered from the sectarian fallout of this war. Absolute no brainer. Blair and Bush should be in prison.
