Like nearly everybody else on here I do not have a data bank of available players but the top clubs will have players like Tex who are not in their 25 man squad and be better than we have available. Failing that I would throw the ball to Colunga and say go and prove what you can do.

So you would start Colunga in front of Rosenior, Manu and March ?

In front of Manu and March yes but I think Rosenior is an almost definite to start wide right but I would prefer Colunga to either of the others out wide left in the absence of Murphy and Lua Lua.

Did you used to be a scout? Thank god you have retired!

There's no doubting Colunga has the technical skill to play at this level. It does seem odd how he's never even in contention of getting on our bench.

That is because the people that matter have thir doubts. There is a lot of doubting.

Could be more to do with his attitude rather than ability as he has played at a decent level for most of his career. I just feel that unless they have shown a good side to them in training at this stage of the season and in our current position he would be a safer better bet than March or Manu who to me both have potential but have not shown what is needed to go that one step up the ladder.

Like most on here I do not see the players in training.

But you must agree that bringing in a player to start that hasn't even featured on the bench all season may be viewed as an unusual decision by an experienced championship manager

Yes but desperate times make for desperate decisions which is what CH is paid for, some you win some you lose. I hope to win. Head tells me he will plump for March but I have been very disappointed with his performances so far this season.

I think March will come good. Manu only turned 22 in August. He too has time to develop but so far, for the little we've seen, he does look raw. Both need time to develop.
Considering Baldock's improved performances thanks to the change of our footballing style. It would be a lot more interesting to see Colunga play in the current Albion team. As you say, he might get us up the ladder.

If this is desperation, i hope we get another 9 games of desperation :)

It is desperation in that we are top of the league, unbeaten but suffering losing 2 of our most influential and best performing players. We are playing against a team trying to topple us from our perch who have the players available to do it, despite a having 3rd rate lower division manager Before anybody jumps that is just a personal opinion of Russel Slade.

Very true. Especially when you have a million pound plus forward who was playing on the left wing in the Champion's League last season.

You might have a point here. Just read this on WIki:

On 23 January 2010, after experiencing personal problems in the new season at Recreativo, which included a confrontation with club fans, Colunga was loaned to Real Zaragoza in the top flight, until June.

That doesnt mean he is up to British football. Orlandi could do that if his team in Cyprus won their league but it wouldnt make him a certain starter for us again.

Europa cup wasn't it?
Champions League apparently:

"Manu was on the bench in Feyenoord's first game of the 2014–15 season, a 1–2 defeat at home to Beşiktaş in the Champions League third qualifying round. Manu came on in the 65th minute for Wesley Verhoek to make his European debut. His first goal of the season came on 6 August 2014, on the return leg to Beşiktaş, just seven days later. His goal came in the 74th minute; however he was unable to prevent Beşiktaş triumphing 5–2 on aggregate. Feyenoord were thus knocked of the Champions League and demoted to the Europa League.

That doesn't really count as Champions league.
