No doubt you put looney in your post but someone had it removed.

A paid minion, I reckon. Has to be. Surely no-one can voluntarily live their life so far and so tightly wedged up somebody else's bottom.

I think chaileyjem's postings of facts are upsetting some moaners so now it's almost amounting to cyber bullying. I haven't seen moans about Acker79's stats which do the same job.

If I BAN you for starting this thread about another user, it will just add fire to your conspiracy theory :jester:

Instead, I'll just point you to the poster's profile page where he basically says who he is and what his job is.

Knowing exactly who Jem is, I can personally say that he is not, and never has been Paul Barber. Unless PB was a leading light in the Brighton Indie music scene in the 80s and 90s under a pseudonym...

Agree. Sadly ChaileyJem keeps pointing out the bleeding obvious and people keep ignoring it. I'm surprised he has retained the stomach for the fight.

Also I know who CJ is and he is not PB. I am also familiar with THPP and quite frankly expect better.

Perhaps chaileyjem needs to use some nice pie charts ?

And I quite frankly expect an Albion fan to occasionally show some kind of subjective PASSION towards the club rather than to continually be mouthing figures off the annual accounts. I'd suggest that there's far more to be gained by treating such people with suspicion, rather than NOT treating them with suspicion. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. So ban me  Worth flagging these kind of things up for NSC public scrutiny tho eh? The joining dates and communications stance of the two people I'm talking about are IMHO too much of a coincidence NOT to be put under a bit of scrutiny. IMHO, like.

Well said Tom, I completely agree, whether he's Barber, Barbers PA or just coincidentally sounds like he should be Barber, he needs to take his Blue and White specs off occasionally !

If you are confused about Jem's identity, I guess you also missed out on Radio Sussex's late 80s Sunday Evening Alternative Music Show 'Turn It Up'.

It was him and his colleagues who convinced me to go and see The Pixies at the Suite in 1989. Still one of my favourite gigs of all time. I'm eternally grateful.

Tom, all he has done is post facts. I doubt that you know what his opinion of the club actually is. I feel you are being unkind which is not like you. The accounts are there for everyone to see, and El Presidente doesn't get stick for his explaining of the figures.
You kept insisting that money was going into the training ground and preparations for the hotel, and ignoring the playing side, but that view was shown to be untrue.

We both support the same team. I simply do not share your suspicion of the club's motives, in fact I feel more included than ever before. I actually do know for a FACT that CJ (I've met CJ and he is a thoroughly nice chap) and PB are not the same. I also know that CJ has to repetitively counter the claim that club do not spend any money on players (we quite obviously do). Both he and I share your exasperation at who we've spent that money on. I assume that your assertion that Bloom just sees this as a property venture (re the hotel) is merely a joke, as he could have invested £200m inside the city and probably quintupled that by now without any of the heartache that goes with watching mistakes you have made piss your money up against the wall. If you seriously think Bloom is in this to make money then I disagree entirely.

By all means keep the club under scrutiny, but pick your targets well. In my opinion Bloom and Barber are not busy getting off on making our lives worse, in fact I'd say they are as disappointed as the rest of us. FFS can we not be crap without people reading alterior motives into it. we are crap now, we will be crap again, we may also be quite good at some point (as we have been prior to this season, funny how that is forgotten).

The long term outlook for this club is still good, even if we do achieve promotion (which is bloody hard btw) in the immediate future. If we do ever get promoted my gut feeling is that we will hopefully be able to cope and stay up for more than a flash in the pan season. This is why Tony built the Amex and the Academy.

Some of the whining on this board has been as annoying to listening to Liverpool, Arsenal and Utd fans crying on 606 about why they don't win everything like they are supposed to. I really thought Albion fans were made of sterner stuff.

Fair enough. Thanks for your detailed response. After the events of recent years though, it's a natural reaction to be extremely wary of a poster relentlessly toeing the party line in an objective passion-free way. As an Albion fan it's more natural to be completely bipolar on these matters, we're either by FAR the greatest team the world has ever seen, or the worst thing since unsliced bread. When we're all bitching about the obvious and ever-increasing gulf between what we're spending on players and what our direct competitors are spending on players, it's rarely going to go down well to be constantly lectured on how we're spending thruppence more this year than we did last year.

I do not blame you for being utterly pissed off at the way this season has gone, we all are. What's disappointing is how we have spent the money we have. We could have been this bad for a lot less :) and had more left over for this summer's spending. Still we move on in hope that we actually sign someone who knows where the bloody goal is. Roll on 2pm saturday and then this season will be over. Then we go again.

I don't think they are in any way related, but the bloke really needs to stop treating every word the club spout as gospel. I think we, as supporters, are right to question the clubs motives after an almost monumental **** up this season.

Clearly the supporters on NSC anyway are becoming more polarised in their views.

You have the "Barberites" who will swallow any old corporate BS and go back begging for more. You have the old weary traditionalists who endured the Archer / Bellotti years and are quite understandably hardened against the corporate BS and kick back against it.

If the club does something well (which it seems to have lost the nack of recently) I applaud it. If it screws up, I criticise it.

But I get where Tom is coming from; CJ only ever posts glorifying the club and its "achievements". Never have I read a word of criticism of the club in CJ's posts. When one person pops up defending the club 100% of the time it does set you wondering....not if it is Barber himself, but someone acting on his bidding and at the club's behest.
