Hughton out

Hughton`s only task this season was to keep us in the Championship, which it would seem he has achieved. Unfortunately, to do this has meant having to play defensive, hard to beat, negative football. But needs must and all that. You cant expect sexy football and goals galore in the midst of a relegation battle, which we have been in since he took over. He`s kept us up, thats all we should judge (and thank) him for this season. Next season is the time to really judge him and his ability to manage a football team.
It doesn't look to me that he has kept us up. We are awful - Awful performances by all players, awful to watch, absolute shit in front of goal, shit in midfield. I'd prefer it if somebody else was in charge.

Agree with this. The reason we are staying up is that others are even worse, not that we are getting better.
We are so slow and boring to watch. I hope he proves me wrong with some stunning signings but I am not sure I would trust him with the money

Hard to disagree with that, absolutely doomed to months of turgid football, I can't see it changing next season. It is so so poor.

Warning! Warning! Grammar police alert.........Think you're looking for turbid; turgid means swollen or engorged!

I'm putting my newbie season ticket on hold. I love the amex, it's accessibility but the entertainment from BHA is poor. The main footballing experience, of late, has been watching the quality of the away side vying for promotion. A side that has high possession and low shots says to me it is managed by a risk averse, overly detailed technical coach. Too boring week after week. Needs a shake up for me to change my mind.

For all those doubters who continue to rubbish CH, give it a rest.
As it has been said earlier, he has inherited a dire squad from all the previous members of the overseas managers association.
Give the bloke a chance, until at least next season, then decide.
He has made us more solid at the back, obviously 'hitting a barn door' training for the strikers is still in session.
Don't give all those Palarse trolls on here something to laugh about.

Me team CH :)

It's not his team and it looks like he'll achieve the primary objective of keeping us up.

He has no forwards. In a year's time the likes of Best, CMS and O'Grady will probably be plying their trade in League 1, possibly Kaz too after recent performances. He's been unlucky with March, Ledesma was anonymous, Carayol not match fit.

It can only get better.

Would you give him £10m to spend? Perhaps we should have swallowed our pride and gone for Nigel Adkins. Are we playing any better than under Sami simple answer No come back Gus all is forgiven.

Drag Mullery out of Corporate and stick him back in charge!

Repeating myself but:

The last thing BHA needs is yet another manager

We need to clear out a load of dead wood, and some that may well prove 'unpopular' culls

Chrissy boy needs a full season at least with his players, not others' mistakes, to show what he can do

Stability. That's what we need, more permanents, less loanees and less League 1 standard players.

The fact that he STILL keeps playing Leon Best even at this point, having seen the full extent of his utter shitness, says to me that he's clueless. I can't understand how a supposedly decent manager could possibly even contemplate doing this after Best's performances. The football under him is shit and boring, we never score and I've started to dread match days. Going to the football is supposed to be something to look forward to, but this season has ruined that. Hughton out.

The worry for me is if Bloom has the money to spend in the summer are we as a club capable of making the right decisions regarding player purchases?

Our success in this area since Poyet and Stephenson left has not been very high. They of course brought in some duffers as well, but far less than the Burke/Garcia/Hyypia reign. But I do share your worries,.mainly due to our last four signings.

This nonsense about inheriting a poor squad is just that-nonsense. Hughton (and his support team) should be able to motivate, train and coach the available players to at least get ONE shot on target against one of the poorest sides I've seen in years. There is no evidence of tactics or coaching. We haven't scored a goal in over 9 hours. We have been fairly solid all season at the back-I don't think Hughton has improved our defence that much. If at all. He has, however, managed to make us look worse than when he took over and none of us thought that was possible. I see a team of poorly coached players lacking motivation and desire. I've said it before but justvwhat the hell are they doing at that 'State of the Art', 'Best Training Facility other than Man City's' because it doesn't look like it involves football. That comes from the coaching staff including the manager.

The more I see of him the less optimistic I feel about The Albion's progress with him in charge. Unfortunately, CH is looking like yet another massive mistake.

Whilst I am in the "give Hughton a chance" camp, current form in the middle of the season would have had him sacked as with Sami. Omens do not look good but one thing is for sure, we cannot go into next season with yet another new manager.

The way I see it, his remit for this season was to keep us up, and he's more or less done it by playing some of the most dull, pragmatic football we've seen in years. I feel sorry for our STHs having to watch this turgid shite (and maybe he does too) but that's not his fault - that is the fault of the smug pricks who couldn't build a competitive squad from a very decent platform only last summer.

I just don't want to judge him at all yet. If he keeps us up, it's job done. It's nothing more than his remit though, and was perfectly achievable. Let's see how he pans out after he's assembled a squad in the summer. If we're still as turgid in August I'll be concerned, but not until then. I just want the season to end.
