Well, talk about pessimism! Who can say the Amex won't be destroyed by a disastrous fire in the middle of April? Who can be certain that Dunk, Ince, Lua Lua and a couple of other first team regulars won't suffer career ending injuries between now and the end of the season?

Houghton might not be here in the summer, but Hughton will. Yes, we will go into the transfer market in the summer (OK, I don't know how much we'll spend, but it'll be a lot better when we're not fishing round for a new manager at the same time as we have done the last two summers). And yes, we'll still be in this division.

That I think will be the major aim or target during the loan window, hopefully somebody nearing the end of his contract or with in our price range that we can sign in the summer.

4 loans and 8 out of contract players ( of which I reckon only 1 will get an extension ) to replace.


Without doubt we'll be talking about the next loan window, when the summer transfer window shuts.


For now, a striker and a winger on loan is needed, and a rotation of 5 from 6 loans in every matchday squad.

Think we have enough to avoid the drop ... the problem is it will not stop the loss of renewals as most will not be around come the summer if any decent transfer activity comes about. Can see some tough selling times ahead for the club, put the prices up for season tickets and they will drop even more

I would say yes, providing CH can mould them in to a good team.
It will look like a team of good players and not a lot of also rans running around an excellent player.
Consistency will be the key and we should have won at B/pool simply because we had better players, who must learn to adapt to different pitches.
It is hardly a secret that theirs was crap is it.

Think we'll stay up, and CH and team will have a proper summer clear out and pre-season. Suspect we'll see a bit of loan activity both ways too. Bit of a gamble but I think the club have done the right thing for now - spunking a pile of cash on a couple of overpriced PL failures/rejects, unsettling the squad just as it seems to be starting to click wouldn't make sense. Hope this doesn't com back and bite me in May though..........

I think the one we need to worry about being happy with the window is Hughton himself. After Blooms statement about how we were going to be active in this window, does Hughton believe any promises made to him about signings have lived up to his expectations, or are we to see the fourth manager walk away due to being unhappy about recruitment?

No. We were promised more by our Chairman, and the club failed to deliver on the recruitment front yet again. Yet another disappointing window, with the club PR bullsh1t machine attempting to cover their latest failure by focussing on return from injury of 2 of our players, even bringing into play the return from loan of Fenelon! We seem to favour 4-2-3-1 but we still only have 2 naturally wide forwards on the books (Kaz and March). This was an area screaming out to be addressed, and we failed to plug the oh so obvious gaps yet again. EB not signed. SWP mentioned, but no action, only bullsh1t. And the masses swallow the crud, whilst the club hovers dangerously above the relegation zone.
