[Albion] The inevitable bitter Ipswich Town fan thread

To be honest, skimming through that thread there seems to be a decent amount of knowledgeable fans on there and one bellend with a random grudge against us.

A bit too much knowledge, wouldn't be surprised if most the people defending us on there had some sort of Brighton connection

The OP of that thread just comes across as an utter bellend. Even their own fans know the guys a ****!

I really can't stand Ipswich, they've really done my head in over the last few years. Their fans act like its their god given right to be a top championship clubs and they genuinely believe that they're a massive club. They're stuck in a time warp and need to wise up and realise that this is there first good season for quite a while. They're a ridiculously bitter lot too, when we beat them and then also when we beat them to 6th place last year.

There are some thing money can't buy. Three points isn't one of them. The Amex.

Sometimes I like to imagine everyone on these sort of threads actually saying or shouting what they write on them in real life and think about what they must look like and what voice they would use.

'Completely disagree, but then we've discussed this before.

I've had plenty nights out in Brighton, wasted enough time getting drunk in the Lanes, and met enough of the locals down there. They take a lot of pride in supporting their local club (as, indeed, we do). The back-story about BHAFC is well-told, suffice to say that they're well entitled to enjoy the relative good times they've got right now.

'Decent club, with decent fans, who make an effort to make the opposition welcome.

Getting wound up because a handful of gobsh1tes ran their mouths off on the internet 3 years ago is, well, silly, and sits firmly at odds with the majority of posts you make on here (if that counts for anything)...

All that said, I am fooked off royally with tonight's result.
'

Is the fitting response that most seem to reflect.

One thing that money doesn't need to buy is a few forum idiots. All us have a number of them already.

I travelled down from London Bridge this afternoon and got chatting to a couple of Ipswich fans. They said they always come to the Amex as it is the most welcoming club of all the teams in the Championship.
All clubs have their w@nkers but the overwhelming are decent.

What on earth is the "murdering prostitutes" bit?
I suspect they are the only people aware of it. They are certainly the only ones to mention it. No-one on here has to my knowledge ???

This was an excellent post on there :
Not a dig at the OP here but does anyone else remember the days when fans on here used to hate other teams for REAL reasons - you know, things like them being dirty, cheats, had fans who were genuinely unpleasant rather than just a bit cocky because they'd been half decent for a couple of seasons, fielding Jan Age Fjortoft in their team or being Norwich City? Because at the moment all it seems it takes for people to hate sides is some ill-judged post-match presser or fans enjoying being half decent on the internet. what's doubly ironic is a lot of this behaviour comes from the 'we hate plastic fans' and 'god people get offended at anything these days' crowds.

One dick ruins the rest, they lost but are in a better place then we are so be it

One dick? No wonder. Here is what Mick said

""We've had one or two players missing through illness and injury and perhaps Brighton have gone up a couple of percent because they are playing us.""

Gone up a couple of percentage points? Do **** off Mick. We are playing better because of Chris Hughton not because we are facing bloody Ipswich.

I wonder if it was the same person who made the mistake of posting on the Brighton facebook page to tell us all that had his team turned up tonight, they would have battered us! He was rightfully put in his place, w@nker!

I think he may have got us mixed up with Top Gear or something.

Easily done.

bizarre story, I was out in Australia watching the ashes many years ago, (2006?) and heard this story about prostitutes being murderered in Ipswich, massive news, (to me too), turned out it was in a suburb of Brisbane called Ipswich, (where I was at the time, but not guilty, I promise), not sure if that's the confusion....................

The vast majority of them seem a good bunch. Mullet needs to remember that the twitter keyboard warriors are most definitely not representative of the entire fanbase.

I presume he was referencing the Suffolk Strangler. Didn't hear a single chant on the topic. An achey shoulder from that huge chip put him in a bad mood perhaps?
