The fact that people like this guy think the place is brilliant pretty much says it all. Please do emigrate if it is that wonderful and do us all a big ol' favour.

I live in Perth and I wish it was just daft names.I would suggest an evening in many suburban pubs and local views would often be far from tolerant.

Unlike England then? Have you heard of the UKIP? There are racist twats everywhere ffs, everywhere. Perth is an amazing place to live and bring up a family, and if you utilised the money you spend on going back to England every year here you'd probably enjoy it more like myself and most other Brits who come here and stay on. I feel so lucky to have called Perth my home this past 20 years, so lucky.

At the end of the day of course it's your choice and I have no idea what draws you back each year to England so who am I to tell you what to do, but for me the $10,000 air fare it would cost for a family of 4 to travel such a long way in shitty cramped economy makes going back to England (or anywhere in Europe) for holiday rather prohibitive for me.

Brighton factually.....
Behave. NZ is the last refuge of Ten Pound Pom gingers whose last act in the UK was to sell their Radio Rentals telly and leave no forwarding address. It's also where they send the ugly Aussies. No offence.

Yes you have a point the good folk of NZ were similar in many ways to the good folk on the Isle of white your right. Perhaps that's why I liked it, made me feel like some kinda blonde haired, blue eyed devil God.

What draws me back to England is my son who left Perth to live in Sussex and the Albion, I always go at the start of the season to catch a few games.I suggest you need to shop around for fares as the 10,000 you quote is way over actual fares which to be fair to the airlines have been very good in recent years.Of course Perth has its good points but then again its not known as Dullsville without reason.

Fair enough then, I wonder if you are the bloke I met briefly at the Rochdale 2-2 draw at Withdean early in the Div One winning season last time we were all there? That was my son's one and only game so far.

Lived in Oz for 6 year years but in the end too far away and not prepared to make the family sacrifice. Lots of good things about Oz and great for an extended working holiday, but Utopia in the sun it wasn't for me

i go back every 2 or 3 years to see family and friends , always a great time particularly in the summer , not so great in winter so have dispensed with the christmas pilgrimage .........i am hugely proud to be English but am starting to get defensive when English people slag off Aussies for being racist......ffs the English invented racism.....coming from Irish parents i am more aware than most probably , i don't have a racist bone in my body but i am more than happy to call a spade a spade...a shovel a shovel or a pig a pig......no matter what nationality they are.

The thing that is still shocking in Australia is attitude towards the indigenous population

Sadly these attitudes are pretty widespread

and you speak from personal experience from your extensive travels throughout the continent over a number of years....yes...??

not from a very pointed angle of questioning from a pompous English interviewer approaching people celebrating Australia day at Circular Quay in downtown Sydney........

Bore off eh.....there's a good lad ....!!
