How do we know there isn't another secret forum where threads that are deleted from the deleted forum go?

You're just too good for us. Denial is futile.

Sounds unlikely. The built in search system on vBulletin does not work well with giant sites like NSC.

What works better, and this is a general tip, is to use Google and do a site:www.northstandchat.com search. You can then also use a custom date range to narrow down results if you have an idea of when the thing you're looking for was posted.

It's what I do to find things.
Ooh. Good tip. Found this

Right here, right now
Harty has become a sad figure seemingly bent on undermining the board and criticising the manager and players at every opportunity. He hides behind his past actions in helping save our club, for which we owe him a great debt however that does not give him the right to snipe at the club at every opportunity.

As I said in another thread I am still waiting for him to write an article urging fans to rally behind the team and the manager. I think I may be waiting a long time.

Bozza, it's not just Harty that thinks this. I've heard it from a few. The best thing for NSC to do would be to confirm how many threads have been deleted in the last couple of months and state why. We only need the title of the thread and a reason.

Or you could just stop listening to the opinions of morons. That might help.

Last month I had a post deleted without notification for supporting someone's assertion that Harty should not give up his day job burying s....s. So mods you may like to undelete that one now.

That was deleted because Harty asked for his opinions on Albion matters not to get muddled with irrelevant banter about his professional work.

Oh dear, what a mess. All seems to be getting very bitter and personal, over issues, some of which go back almost ten years. I'm only a JCL on here, having been here only 5 years or so (but an Albion fan for over 50 years) so I don't understand all this 'agenda' business.

Usually, I pretty much agree with what I've seen of Harty's writings. For instance in this case:

For all the spin-doctoring back in the summer about quality applicants, have the Albion, on the face of it, ended up with someone who, in the long run, won’t cut it at Championship level?

It’s not as if the alarm bells didn’t start ringing with some supporters early on. And it’s clear that it’s polarised opinion on the legendary Albion internet forum, NorthStandChat.

Fans who did express initial concerns were dismissed by another faction of the support in a graphic and uncomplimentary term – a barb which has come back to haunt its original authors in recent weeks.

Agree with that, although I can see it would be a red rag to a bull to certain mods.......

Losing money with 25,000 attendances in the Championship is worrying, losing money with 15,000 watching in League One is far more frightening.

That too is unarguable. After the initial reactions on this thread, what seems to have really set the pot boiling on here is this paragraph:

I’m not for one minute suggesting that Paul Barber, or anyone else at the club is controlling or censoring the forum, but as emotions run high certain threads have been deemed controversial /libellous by moderators and have been removed.

Firstly, he is not suggesting that PB and co. are controlling the forum, but some of the anti-Harty posts seem to think he is. As for removal of posts, I don't know how many have been, when or why. Bozza is very important to NSC and we are all grateful for the work he has done; he - and the other mods - may - or may not - have been over cautious at times when deleting threads. That could only be debated on a thread by thread basis, not a generic discussion about all threads deleted, and wouldn't need to be personal (and wouldn't really be possible as it would involve re-publishing said threads for the purpose of discussion!)

So please, can things which happened years ago be smoothed over? Why does it have to get so personal after all this time? Some of us (well, me anyway) have no idea what Harty's 'Agenda' might be. Back in the Gull's Eye days he may well have had an agenda to get rid of Ar**er and Bellendotti (didn't all Brighton supporters), but nobody can seriously believe he is going after TB, can they? Really, seriously? He runs a successful small business, and may well be 'doing alright' - but even with a consortium there's no way he could look to buy out Tony. So - just what is this agenda?

And once specified and out in the open, can it be laid to rest please? This forum can be great at times - this thread hasn't been.

Does Harty have an "agenda"? He says not. But I'd like to know why he chose to start a debate the other day about whether or not Tony Bloom was thinking about selling the Club.
