Reputation points on here?

I have just noticed this although I cannot find it again, reputation points. What does this mean and where can I find them?

Just found out I have 67 but I will probably always be a one green box private. Best to ignore the whole thing but earn a reputation for incisive and humorous posting by the power of the the written word.

I kid you not. I checked 10 minutes ago and I also had 67.It is a notification of some sort. Is that how you get the points by incisive writing? Is it to do with thumbs ?

The little star in the bottom left hand corner, next to the report post, that's where you give it. If someone likes your post, they can give you rep (like I just did!!!)

Check out your profile box on the forum when you post, look down on the bottom left and you will see a star, someone has to click on it to add or deduct reputation, I have just given you a "reputation approve " to get you going.

Thank you, I have now accelerated to 74 points. I'm not sure how it will affect my future posting but it would be nice if a high reputation could earn the poster a " Get out of Jail Free " card with the mods.
