They will vote Yes because of one reason. Pride.

Think how many stupid, Braveheart loving, pissheads there are in Scotland who are going to follow Alex Salmond like lemmings off a cliff.

They would never live it down if, after centuries of hating England and trying to be their own country, they ended up voting No.

I am sure when it comes to it the vote will be no and not as close as the opinion polls suggested.

This. There was an interesting interview with a polling company exec on the BBC the other day. Apparently polls are often close to being correct as they do loads of clever stuff with historical voting patterns - they obviously don't have that this time. Also they believe they may be wrong because the Yes voters are generally much more vocal and willing to give their opinions when polled while No voters are more likely to say "don't know" when polled but vote No on the day. My guess : 40% Yes, 60% No.

It will be around 55/45 in favour of NO.

I also think that (whichever way it goes) there will be plenty of bitterness around with some people will refuse to accept the result. Salmon and Jimmy Cranky will push for another vote in two years time.

I suspect the No will get a very small majority.

This is possibly the worst result as there will be a large number of Scots who are unwilling members of the UK but the whole of Scotland has been promised all sorts by the Government if they stay in the UK. So where does that leave Wales and Ireland ? Do they get more self determination?
England ? Just sees more of their tax money spent in Scotland.

This, Cameron is behaving like a cuckolded husband with a young trophy wife"Oh please don't go, if you stay I'll buy you a new Mercedes, and I'll up your allowance by a grand a month, and I'll get you a Nanny for the children"

Completely agree. I think it will be a resounding NO - I'm going for somewhere around the 68% mark.

I think unless we see a resounding 60% NO vote, this issue is going to rumble on for a generation or two.

And FWIW, I reckon it'll be 54% NO.

I reckon it will be a safe NAY.

I genuinely am not that arsed though either way, though would like to see either a glum Alec Salmond backtracking, or David Cameron resigning, so I suppose it's a win-win.

The Polls are open. This is it.

An astonishing 97% of people eligible to vote have registered to do so.

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!

Cringeworthy tinpot video. Players mumbling, stuttering and looking embarrassed.

I'd like Scotland to stay within the union, but in the event of a yes vote........FU*k off and be quick about it

If its a yes and Scotland have to play England at some point after. I can imagine this being sung..
'You should've said No,
You should have said Nooo,
You Stupid B'stards,
You should've said No'

followed by

'We're glad you said Yes
We're glad you said Yeeess
You Stupid B'stards
We're glad you said Yes'

I'm sure i heard on the radio that Salmond as Leader of The Scottish Parliament would get the casting vote.

He has already voted so can't see him being allowed that.
There is an article on the BBC website which basically says no body knows as it's not written in any of the agreements or regulations.
