I can see why Fulham went down. Things are improving though, he did manage two saves today.

I'm hopeful there is more to come.

I am as well.

I'm not advocating that he is dropped to the bench (yet), but so many goals for so few shots on target do tend to indicate that he's been shit so far.

I think it is not just playing performance that is the issue. PIG caused dissension and in my view his attitude may well be a reason he has yet to find a club rather than his actual playing ability.

I think the tactics are an issue in that opponents are given opportunities, with time and space to put our defence under pressure, cross the ball and make gilt edged, clearcut chances in the box. If he was consistently being beaten from outside the penalty area there would be an issue but he is not. When Ankergren was in goal v Swindon we let in two.

The stats for today show Brentford 5 shots on target 3 goals not good enough for whatever reason, the keeper needs and is expected to make some saves, Stockdale hasnt as yet, in fact in the games that we have played only made routine catches.

It was actually 6, so 50%. By contrast we had 4 on target including Greer's disallowed one, and Button let in 3 of them - 75%. Do you think he is being slated right now on the Brentford forum?

BBC site still showing 5 on target for them 3 for us and no Buttton will not be getting slated because they scored more than he let in, we didnt.

So if their forwards had only scored one, Button's performance would deserve slating?

I adore Calde and Bruno. Going forward they are the bollox, but they get back as if they have diving boots on. We need a right back on loan that can defend as well as attack.
Bennett is also marauding forward, but his attacks are not being covered.
When Bridge was charging forward, you could see Bridcutt covering for him at deep left midfeld, so the holding midfielder, Holla needs to drop into these positions to cover, otherwise we will get caught ou, as we did today by pace , Brentfrd did that today and went 2-0 up.
Therefore I feel Stockdale is getting a lot of shit, when IMHO, his defence is letting him down.

Tomasz for me, standards dipped a few games last season but overall he was the best we've had in recent years

Or if you follow statistics :ffsparr:

Quite. What we all see with our own eyes, and judge based on our experiences of playing or watching football, are a far far far more reliable guide on this than the stats. A keeper can concede from three unsaveable strikes out of three, or save 9 out of ten scuffed efforts straight at him, letting the tenth through his legs. The stats are near worthless.

It's a little unfair as Tomasz had 70+ games and Stockdale has only had a handful. He may well turn out to be a £1m dud or a decent signing or a bargain.

The team are still gelling and Sami is still finding his best team. Goalkeepers come tend to cop a lot of stick. He's nowhere near being the invisible Graeme Smith, but he hasn't yet proven himself as a Ben Roberts. He hasn't been a (latter day) Casillas yet either.

Absolute rubbish! You really have no concept of goalkeeping if you use these stats for your judgement. If you had been there today you would have seen that DS was not fault for any of the goals. If your looking for someone to blame then look at Dunk (who was awful all first half)and Bennett. Granted he has not made any top class saves but I would only say he could have done better with one goal he has let in so far!
