If I lived local to the Amex - and had the time - I'd bloody LOVE to offer to come in each match day and sort out the catering experience with a few Gordon Ramsey style home truths. I'd do it for free. All the answers to the myriad of issues are in this thread - it's gold dust. It just needs management desire to address the fundamentals. Nobody wants to do a bad job anymore than anyone wants to receive poor service.

I reckon I could get match day kiosk revenue up by 25%(minimum) in one season and I wouldn't even want paying to do it.

Ironically I went for a pee at HT and noticed the queues for catering had almost gone. Managed to get a cuppa and be back in my seat comfortably before the restart.

No Harvey's in WSL after the game until the initial queues had gone when they miraculously found some. The service down there continues to go from dreadful to baffling.

I was shocked when I bought some chips the other week and got the same thing. Never again!

In answer to the thread, I don't spend money at the games regularly, only the odd time if I've not had a chance to eat before, or happen to fancy a drink.

However sometimes when I have fancied something, I've then not bothered after seeing the queues. Often I'd rather wait until after the match and buy something reasonably priced on the way home.

I don't even bother trying at half time, as from previous experience it's rare to make it back out for the second half unless you've missed the end of the first half, and I won't do that.

As mentioned above I reckon a single snakey queue per kiosk could be a faster and fairer option. It's something me and the people I sit with have been saying since the day it opened.

I agree with the idea of till servers and runners, or maybe even receipts and collection points, although I haven't thought into the logistics of that one.

Other than that as has been discussed above it's about finding a way to provide adequately trained and motivated staff for a position that is so irregular. Clearly it can be done as people have mentioned above.

You'd think a large catering company like Sodexo would have a large enough base of casual staff who regularly do similar work in other venues throughout the week too and hence greater experience, which they would then only need to supplement with others?

Was in north stand and a young lad took his freshly purchased box of chips to his dad, opened them and they were as the picture on this thread. That is a pathetic site, that's not a portion of chips.

On the plus side, very rarely drink at the football but was getting lift there today so had 3 excellent pints of Harvey's and a steak and ale pie that was back to a higher standard. Filling was more plentiful and not rock hard.

Taking the results of this poll to be representative of Amex customers as a whole - and there's no reason to suggest otherwise - the stats reveal that 85% of Customers would like to spend more money during their Match Day Experience if the catering setup did not prevent them from doing so. That is a shockingly damning percentage and one which the club would be stupid to the point of terminal dumbness to ignore.

Thanks for the support chaps, I'm sad to hear my experience wasn't a one-off and others have received the same 'portion'.

I might write a polite email later explaining my disappointment, then at least the club will be aware of the issue (if they aren't already!)
