Labour have done nothing and I mean nothing to be deserve a lead in these polls. I certainly wont be voting for them. I used to be a Labour voter but never again.
Labour get in it will more of the same, nothing is going to change. They will ruin this country.

Yes. Yes you're right! Labour caused the sub prime mortgage market in America to implode and drove the world over the cliff of global economic meltdown.

Meanwhile, in the UK, messrs. Cameron and Osborne saw this coming and warned us. They did this by agreeing to match and expand labours fiscal plan. Pound for pound.

The main opposition party invariably is, after the honeymoon period of the new Government. But when it comes to the real poll next May, voters will be reminded that Balls, Cooper and Milliband were key members of the Labour government that screwed up the economy, more than it should have, by a massively borrowed spending spree prior to the global banking crisis.

It will also be made abundantly clear that the recovery under Osborn, was denied by doom mongers Balls and Milliband who were adamant that Osborn's policies would fail. Osborn's success also caught out the IMF and credit rating agencies, who all thought he was going down the wrong path.

Last and not least - the comic and inept figure of Milliband will be taken apart. Including the latest glaring hypocrisy and 2 faced-ness. After UKIP's showing at the recent elections, Labour said they were going to change tact and fight for UK's interests in Europe and to check immigration. When Cameron did the former last week, but inevitably lost, electioneering and desperate Milliband seized upon it as Cameron's failure, when clearly Cameron cannot be expected to change other governments minds but he did stick to his principles. The lily-livered and ever changing views of Milliband will be brought to the fore and ripped apart.

I have never read the Guardian. And if I say I am a floating voter then that is what I am. We do exist you know. And my rattling is not just my opinion but also the opinion of the vast majority of people I talk to on a day to day basis. I work in peoples homes and meet 3 or more different people each day of the week and when this subject is bought up, by them not me, the general opinion is as my post and I agree with it.

In reality, 14%, as in todays polls for UKIP, would probably not translate in to any seats. Unless they place most of their resources into a small number of constituencies, which I expect them to do.

The average opinion poll vote is 31+% for the Tories at present. That will increase towards the election if the economy continues to recover. Governments lose elections, oppositions don't win them. Labour should be a long way ahead, but for various reasons are not.

It's been my belief for a while that the Tories will form the largest party at the next election, but whether they can get over the line is another matter.

It takes less votes to win one Labour seat than it does to win one Tory seat, which is why the Tories need a bigger percentage of the votes to win an Election than Labour, bookies offering 5/1ish that scenario happens

UKIP have done a great job but I am unconvinced that their recent successes will carry through at a General Election. To be Government material a party needs to have policies across the whole spectrum, not just one or 2 selected subjects. Whilst I might have been tempted to vote UKIP at the MEP elections (I didn't), I would have to think long and hard before doing so at a GE.

At present I have no idea who I will be voting for next year.

Why point out their ethnicity? could you imagine if you said they were of a different non white ethnicity or orientation what an outcry there would be.

The question was about why Labour has a lead. In my opinion that's part of it.
