Great player in his day. I remember when he lost his payslip, yes just like us, and it was for £95k if I remember correctly.
That was a week. Personally I would give him a miss. It seems as the the league clubs have voted against the top teams having B teams in the league. Lots of them will be looking for clubs to develop their talent.
Another possible shout is Can (pronounced Chan). Yes he is 21, and he cost nearly £10m, and he's an u21 German international. With LFC needing bodies to compete next it's a long shot, however Sammi signed this lad for Leverkusen and has been significant in his career. He may just want some adaptation time with his old mentor .......
He is a DM/M/CBL and LB. Mr. Versatility !

Really?

I was under the impression (and certainly my Fulham mate seemed to confirm it) that Riise was very visibly on the decline last season - along with several others on the team admittedly. Positionally found wanting time and again in a side that conceded an obscene amount of goals (the most in the league). Very good back in the day, but even at this level I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable about signing a player so clearly on the way out.

Would much rather we put all our efforts into getting Ward back.

I certainly think his PL days are over having watched him play for Fulham several times last season. He has lost his pace and was often a liability defensively. Regarding his wages, if he'd want to drop down a level or if he is even up to it - who knows. Ward would be my preference though.

Are you suggesting that a player that Liverpool have just paid £10m for is a 'possible shout' for coming on loan to Brighton?

I hate silly season.

Louis Alberto was bought for £8.2 million from Barcelona.
He had two substitute appearances for LFC last year. I understand he is going on loan to Malaga, who are paying 10% of his wages. Iago Aspas was bought for about £7m, he is also going on loan.
Aquilani was bought for £17m, he went on loan to AC Milan for a year, then to Fiorentina before he joined them permanently , LFC paid half his wages.
Andy Carroll cost £35m (ouch) and went on loan to West Ham, LFC subsidised his wages. How can we forget Degan? Free agent on £95k a week and played about ten times until we loaned him out and loaned him out again until his 5 years contract expired :facepalm:Lots of other examples but I think that's enough. As much as I love my Seagulls, don't compare them to LFC, not yet anyways. It should also be said that some of the above whe done to save the club from extinction due to H&G ineptitude.

Your silly season, my facts. I said it is unlikely , but not impossible.

If we did sign him, we'd have to get a Swede in. We can't have a Dane, a Finn, and a Norwegian guy in and not a Swede. It isn't fair. It just isn't.

Degan was on £95k a week?! WOW!

Thing is though mate is all of those people played a season before going on loan. I assumed that you were saying how Can should come immediately on loan to us in order to settle in, which in my opinion is never going to happen. If he has a shaky season who knows, but now I think there is literally no chance of it happening.

Magic, you do have a point. However I would say that after the amount of crud we bought, some listed, BR needs to get some right. Perhaps it may be a six month loan in January, who knows.
As far as I remember Riise's agent came out with the fake story, but it was true, I think they stopped dishing out the pay slips as it was a wee bit embarrassing :)

Hither (sometimes Thither)
If he can be romanced by our project, then fine. His heart must be in it though. Ward grew throughout the season and i liked his gamelong perseverance, so i'd like his return and a contract to say he's with us for a few years.

Riise would be a very good signing. I think it might be a possibility.

Out of contract, still only 33, we need a left back and played with Hyypia for many years at Liverpool. Possible signing?

But he's FOREIGN??

Would be a great signing.
