The Championship Play-Off Final has not even happened yet, so the season isn't technically over. Yet, you're going on as if it's the day before the start of the season and we have a squad of 8 players and no manager. Get a grip, FFS.

You genuinely think that the club are not working on getting a new manager and new players in?

Have you considered that if the manager is going to be Paul Clement, he may be a bit busy until late on Saturday evening?

Have you ever considered the fact that if this were the case, you one rung up the ladder from putting all our eggs into one basket ? so now its Paul Clement is it ? i thought it was Tim Sherwood ?

In either case arent we indeed Panicking ??? From appointing a manager, sorry erm head coach last season, with one seasons experience, now we are banking on the choice of a guy with no experience and a guy with 28 games experience !!!!!!

Madness , pure madness, and if indeed im surely not the only one panicking !!!!

Quite right.
The idea of getting in a new manager brimming with energy and confidence and watching him augment and furnish our squad with new and exciting talent is something I am very excited about. Very.

The last manager we picked who didn't have any experience of being a manager didn't turn out too badly, did he?

I do apologise, thank you for correcting me, BUT when it mattered most, when he got bored, the most important game of his career at the ALBION, instead of setting up the team to win a game that was winnable, that could of actualy led ALBION into the promised land, what did he do ? what did he do i ask you ????

He was too busy doing a dump on the away dressing room floor !!!!!!!!

I think Bloom and Barber have been very clear the direction they are taking the club. In terms of finance, playing philosophy, backroom/scouting/youth development and ambition. We aren't being kept in the dark, there is no conspiracy. Watch all their interviews, we dont know their cards, but we know what game they are playing. Watch the recent one with Bloom and quit panicking. We know the limitations the clubs philosophies impose. We are building foundations, this might not bring instant success but we are remaining competitive. They aren't going to change this in a hurry or without good reason. These limitations make it a tough job for any manager, Oscar obviously found it tough and saw next year was going to be even tougher (and I have a feeling he saw us as an entry point to English football). Poyet was always trying to leave which is why so many fans had difficulty with his attitude.

I actually believe in what Bloom has set out, which is why I am not going to panic, I also know they aren't going to make quick judgements that will jeopardise the clubs future. I am excited about next season, more in hope than in expectation of success. I will take what ever highs come along because I know what the lows felt like. If you think Brighton should spend big and gamble then I think you are always going to be disappointed. I will remember this season for the 92 minute of Forest than the defeat to Derby.

I don't know why the OP is getting slated for this thread. The club isn't looking too healthy from what I can think of I made this list of what we need:

GK
CBx2
LB
Wingers x2
Forward x2

8 new players... Oh and the small business of a new manager.

Now of course it's just my opinion, but I don't think it's too off base. And when it's all laid out like that, it looks a bit worrying does it not?

Those of you saying pre-season doesn't start for a few weeks yet so there's no need to worry, when we're heading into the summer manager less for the second year in a row, and with half the squad needing rebuilding, there's no time to waste. Early bird catches the worm and all that.

Not forgetting we currently have no right backs under contract until either Bruno or Calde re-sign, if indeed they do. It is early but there is no denying that we have a huge rebuilding job to be as competitive as the previous 2 seasons and the sooner this starts the better. Whilst not panicking I would suggest there is room to be concerned.

it's only worrying if you don't think the club are going to do anything about it. Given that current regime has hired two good managers/coaches, brought in some decent players and somehow turned us into a club with genuine playoff aspirations rather than a team just happy to stay up, I am fairly confident that they will once again do well this summer on both player and manager fronts.

Getting Ward signed up and announced asap would soften the blow of Upson moving on.

but wait... they'll then be criticised for signing a playing without having a manager in place :shootself

A quick glance at NSC this morning would suggest that yes, the world does seem to be about to end.
Doomed, I tell thee.

I see you've been perusing the UKIP threads

Yes ok Bloom is our saviour ues we must trust him and be patient, how dare we question him ? ok lets all be patient, and when next season we dont have a decent squad of players and a shit manager because we left it all to late, lets just be grateful we survive in the championship

You are obviously questioning him because he hasn't appointed a new manager and signed half a dozen players just 12 days after our last game and before the season has officially ended...

I would be seriously questioning him if he had! Now that would be rash, panicking and knee-jerk stuff quite unbecoming of a serious, astute businessman.

You are perfectly entitled to your opinions, but you must accept that others have the right not to respect those opinions if you have no knowledge whatsoever of what negotiations are, and have been, taking place between Tony, the board and prospective managers, players and their agents.

Hypothetical question for you:

Say there's a bloke who you really want. I mean REALLY want and he's absolutely top drawer but he's currently indisposed because he's got a big game to focus on and then he wants a few days to relax with the family. He's agreed to meet you in a few weeks and seems genuinely interested in the job. Remember, this bloke is the business. Opportunities to talk to someone like him don't come along very often. This could transform the club.

Do you:
a) take the risk that of waiting a week or two and really go for this bloke?
b) decide you can't wait so go for someone of a much lower calibre and reputation who's available now?

I'm not saying you're wrong. Just that there might be legitimate reasons why Bloom is stalling.

The club learnt its lesson after appointing Russell Slade , 3rd choice on the list and out of his depth and comfort zone of being more than a firefighter manager in his second season.

Alright, I'll say it...

Good morning, Mr Maguire, you've caught a few today...

Nope. The OP is posting from an IP address that no other NSC user has ever used.

He's either a Palace troll, or a genuine bed-wetter.

I personally, think he's genuine.

Again narrow minded idiots! If we were competitive and mid table next year who cares?? The club is well run and being set up for the premier league! Idiots like you telling bloom to pull his finger out is an absolute joke!!! Slow and steady won the race! Don't get caught up in 'Portsmouth' style quick success!!
