Not quite sure I agree - For what he has been convicted of, 8 years (he'll only do 4) seems pretty small if you ask me. I think our justice system needs to be stronger and yes 8 years I think is appropriate, but he should do all 8 years not be out in 4 for good behaviour.

He was sentenced on the law in place when he committed the offences, the maximum at the time being 2 years. Since (iirc) 2002 the maximum is 10 years and, as the judge said, at least one of the offfences would be classed as rape today.

The man who holds lots of secrets found dead in a cell within 6 months.

That long? Actually, I'm not sure he has many secrets. He sold most of them to keep his grubby little life going.

The most gratifying thing about this whole business is that, as I suspected, Clifford has an incredibly small cock.

At least we can all laugh at that while he's getting shanked.

5Live news reporting of the sentencing includes a mention that there is a woman who has claimed he abused her in Spain when she was 12, that 'for legal reasons' charges can't be brought on that claim, but that the judge acknowledged it saying he believed that her claim was true, that he believes Max Clifford did abuse her.

Another Saville? Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

He has been shifting a lot of his cash about of late. Trying to hold on to his mucky fortune ahead of the compo claims

He is going to have a very miserable 4 years. He will probably end up doing 8 anyway as he'll end up in numerous scrapes in there which the governor will be more than happy to blame Clifford for. Gird yourself Maxy Baby, you are in for a rough weekend.

Hopefully he wil be convicted of a crime committed after 2003,so the Judge can give him a fitting maximum sentence, and he will never see the light of day as a free man

Is HIGNFY on tonight? Shame they would have recorded it yesterday and missed the sentencing. I hope his victims are helped by the verdict, and seeing him go away for a decent length of time.

For someone who always came across as fairly level-headed, he's shown himself to be quite unhinged during all of this. What lies beneath and all that.

He's clearly a sociopath. I mean look at what he used to do for a living, would take the side of the highest bidder and discredit perfectly innocent folks so his clients could look good/escape trouble. Oh yes, and he could molest women and underage girls with no remorse. He has acted just plain odd through the whole thing. As mentioned before I saw him sometimes as he lived near me. Used to see him at a café, legs folded like a lady reading a paper and munching toast. Living quite happily with himself despite being a dirty paedo. That is sociopathic behaviour.

Is it me or is NSC at one over this? Bloody glad that smug, nasty piece of work is now behind bars. Never did like him every time he appeared on then box I would shout at it. Not forgetting his poor unfortunate victims in all this it must be absolutely fantastic for then to finally get justice.
Enjoy your first night Max. Sleep tight.

Excellent news. Let's hope all those similar nasty scumbags are quaking in their boots tonight.

Should guilty people be made to pay financially for their crimes as well as forgoing freedom?

Jesus, how wrong could I be.

After reading the full extent of his crimes, he should have been locked up for the rest of his life.

The media didn't half play down his crimes massively during the trial, didn't they?
