As you might guess, I absolutely love the old programmes. The adverts are one of the main reasons. There was none of the political correctness that there is today - if there was a decent product, get the advert out! It's amazing that smoking was advertised as being good for you, using lots of footballers at the time to promote the benefits of lighting up! My favourite though is the advert for the 'Brooke's Rupture Appliance' that appeared in lots of programmes in the 40s and 50s

Brighton / Hove actually
Goldstone Rapper's highlights (the game was never on TV, this was apparently compiled from footage from the Anfield cameras with Radio Brighton commentary added). The quality isn't great, but it's worth watching because we were absolute class that day against the best team in Europe - who desperately wanted to win the FA Cup that season as it was the only competition they hadn't won under Bob Paisley. A thrilling cup-tie and a fully-deserved victory.

I feel privileged to have been at that game, the silence from the Kop when they missed the penalty was deafening.

I agree 100% Hiney, the old adverts make those programmes doubly fascinating.

Cigarettes and alcohol are the best ones.
