People moaning about JFC. Hahahahahahhahahahahaha. What planet are you on? He a) worked his nuts off b) is quality and has looked it from the start and c) is a kid. Great prospect, just like the others.

I also thought he was decent.

But Solly, wow WHAT A PLAYER!

Joke isn't it. We just drew with a team who played their Premier League midfield and we have people slagging off a teenager who more than held his own. Not a clue. I hope we bring through some more youngsters as "poor" as Jake.

He's 19 and was playing against a Premier League side.

Why do our fans do this? I'm sure we have the highest proportion of fans who have no clue about the actual game in the country.

To be honest I prefer some of the negative comments to the 'They are going to be England or top end premiership players'. We built players like Robinson up to be something they weren't. I'd like us just to let them devolp without expecting the world. They are all promising at this stage. No more, no less.

I will say its exciting that we are producing this sort of talent before the academy is even up and running. It's even better having a manager with the trust to play them. I'm willing to bet we wouldn't have seen them in the first team if another manager was still here.

People have wierd opinions about JFC. I think it's because he's not scoring many goals or playing killer passes all the time - the obvious stuff. If you actually watch him he does the simple stuff really well - works hard and doesn't give the ball away. People expect too much of him. I thought he was decent tonight, most players his age wouldn't look that good at this level.

He skewed a shot wide. I am sure that has clouded the judgement of a few.

This. He played decent against an experienced player in Huddlestone, who lets not forget has 4 England caps. Andrews didn't play as bad as everyone is saying as well. I wouldn't say anyone had a particularly bad game. Obika didn't have a bad game, he's just not good enough, but I hope I eat my words in his case.

Because they are hatstands. I commented at one stage how cool it was to have a 19yr old & a 21 year old playing in central midfield against someone of Huddlestone's power and experience, and by no means being shown up.

My only criticism of JFC would be when he was one on one with a defender in the second half, and he was brushed off the ball by the centre half with ease, going down and looking for the foul. They broke away, went up the other end and scored. He needed to have stood his ground a bit more. Then again, he made an excellent clearance from more or less on the line near the end, so I'm not going to be too critical. He had a reasonably decent game I thought, overall.

The weakest players on the night for me were Andrews (bizarre, but he was outclassed by the two youngsters and didn't seem to know where he should be) and LuaLua, who gave the ball away frequently, played too centrally (though I guess that might have been on instruction) and went down far too easily. He did himself no favours if he wants to stake a claim to a permanent starting place.

Agreed. The spine of that Hull side was very strong. Bruce wasn't taking any chances. They're a different proposition with Long & Jelavic up front, but otherwise it was a decent PL team that's done well this season. If Albion had really played badly, we'd have been nowhere near winning.

Re-reading the thread list on the main board, it occurs to me that Solly March vs The Tigers sounds like a cracking name for a children's book.

If I ever write one, I may call it this.

Well let's hope the sequel is Solly March vs The Black Cats.
