What id Cardiff had accepted the bid?

According to Sky the bid was accepted by Cardiff , it means Mason is told of the interest from another club , it is up to him to accept personal terms but a bid is on the table.

Your analogy isn't quite right though is it. If you were put on secondment for 9 months and your salary went from 20k to 100k, but you knew there was a chance that at the end of that period you would be going back to 20k p.a. would you pi$$ it all up the wall, or put some aside just in case? Or invest it wisely in home improvements...... like putting some cladding up maybe?

Interesting that bid has been accepted by Cardiff for Mason ( as reported by sky). I would be surprised if we are not still in the mix unless the fee is considered to high. I still believe that there is no need to panis, business will be done. Cuptie on saturday gives us more time to evaluate our list of signings, and for Liam to move. More importantly Leo needs a goal to get him going again, so for me he starts on saturday. Lua Lua and Buckley could both be in the frame, although Burnley is only 3 days later... and CMS is on the horizon, so not all doom and gloom.

But what if it was 10% or 15%?? Which is more likely for the promoted clubs. Even with hefty investment it only incrementally improves the chances of staying up compared to some of the established teams.

I'm inclined to think Bournemouth are trying to rub our noses in it. They have no intention of signing Mason but put in a bid to screw up any chance of us acquiring another player for a similar price to what was offered for Grabban. I think somebody at Bournemouth has been watching Storage Wars.

Would have preferred Mason to Grabban (who was did nothing at The Amex - scored a penalty of course, but I like to think a forward would from 12 yds). Mason would have been ok, but I seriously doubt whether he is worth £2.5m.

The agent was just trying to get a better deal for Grabban, Brighton just happened to make an offer (which Grabban for £1.1 would still had been a good deal for you if it had gone through I feel..). You and us both in the field for a striker, and there's not that many about - so we are both looking at Mason.

Then my reaction would be different. However, the stats don't support your viewpoint.

There have been 46 teams who have played in the PL, of whom 7 have been one season wonders (some, such as Palace, more than once).

But the £1.5M bid for Mason has now led to Cardiff reassessing their valuation on him to £2.5M.

Can somebody enlighten me as to where it says the bid has been accepted? There is nothing on Twitter, and Bournemouth's local paper said yesterday that the club confirmed no bid had been made.

Why on earth would they do that?! Waste of everyones time and they would look ridiculous. I think we're a little bit full of own importance. Bournemouth have had a result and kept hold of Grabban and I doubt they give a monkeys about our other transfer targets.

I agree, but the question was how could Bournemouth have a bid accepted by Cardiff and he then doesn't sign, I simply gave an example, albeit exaggerated to get the message across.

What does seem odd is that Sky Sports were reporting the offer had been accepted at the same time as Howe was downplaying the likelihood of it happening.

The article was altered on the Sky Sports website late on Saturday evening. The Mirror then reported yesterday that Solskjaer was happy to let Mason go to Bournemouth for £2M. Andy Naylor tweeted this morning that an inside source at Cardiff says the asking price is now £2.5M
