Burnley have made a bid for Middlesbrough striker Lukas Jutkiewicz. #boro #clarets

Could Burnleys interest be over or are they just looking for other options ?

Yep just seen this myself - don't know anything about him - what's he like anyone?

Not fit to lace Barnes boots? Anyone suggesting he is has to be on a wind up.

I took Burnley's interest to be more serious than Wolves, but the latter certainly not to be dismissed altogether.

I might be wrong but still receiving parachute payments I believe.

Even so, they have players on massive wages for a league one club, cant exactly see then having a million upwards to spend, add that to the fact they already have a very decent strikeforce for league one and it leaves me confused as to why they'd actually want him? That's no disrespect to Barnes. Also add that to the fact Barnes isn't going to want to drop into league one.

and still with massive debts...

I thought Wolves were one of the few clubs that run at a small profit? In fact, I believe that they were entirely debt-free at the time they were relegated from the Premier League (only in 2012!!).

If Barnes isn't about to sign a new contract I think people are being a little short-sighted to say it is good news if Burnley have given up.

I would prefer him to sign a new deal and stay but if not, it is sound business sense - particularly for a club likely to post annual losses of more than £8million - to cash in while they can. In which case, the more bidders/interest, the higher the price.

Maybe they are looking to replace their expensive player's with other cheaper option's who could hold their own in the Championship, like Barnes. That is if they really feel they can make promotion this season.

Barnes to Wolves, with some sort of deal involving Kevin Doyle coming this way.......

No thanks. 30 years old, on the way down, with a much poorer goalscoring record than Barnes over the past 3 years.
