In a pile of football shirts
the Spanish second teir is probably a bit weaker than the Championship .

The Spanish La Liga is probably weaker than the Championship, apart from the top 3 or 4 sides. Spanish Segunda Division is more like on par with L1 or the SPL.

Maybe the fact he has broken into the Barca first team and scored for them strongly makes me believe he is a far better player than Barnes for starters

The kind of service you get at Barca I can imagine that Barnes would actually score plenty of goals if given the opportunity.

This is hilarious. A player, any player, on Barca's books is worse than Barnes - an average Championship striker! :rotlf:

He is stronger and far more skillful than Barnes, played for the first team in pre season games and was top scorer along with Messi. He can beat players and is considered a MASSIVE prospect at Barca.

And miss many more chances than he already does... but it will NEVER happen.

He a big old unit too, looks like he has the upper body strength to hold off the defenders in this league, great ball control, and knows where the goal is. Sign him up.

He is a much better player than Barnes end of, you can't compare him to some one game wonder who once got a game for Utd. He is VERY highly thought of and has been called up to the Cameroon squad

Well, now everyone will be persuaded by your logic.

Using "end of" and capital letters in the same post is a masterstroke, good enough to win any argument.

Well if he is so much better than Barnes or Ulloa, once thing is certain, he won't be coming here. How many of those claiming he is ready to step up to the Championship and displace our pretty high quality forwards, have actually seen him play rather than just seen a few clips?

So why is the Barcelona B team currently 19th in their League? A league which is not any stronger than the Championship?

Unfortunately, very true.

Good question. Maybe their motivation is low, since they can't be promoted? Maybe the focus is on player development rather than results? Who knows? Do you really think Barca have missed out on offering £750,001 for Barnes!?

He has ALREADY played for the Barca first team and scored within 10 mins of coming on

Maheta Molango scored within 12 SECONDS of his Albion debut (in the Championship) - and, of course, went on to have an illustrious footballing career. You have completely won me over with your argument that scoring goals, quickly, is an infallible measure of a player's skill and effectiveness.

Very few if any on here, have any idea if this fella is any good or not. One person probably more qualified to make a judgement than any of us is Oscar Garcia. So if it's true it will probably be great news, if it's true...

This is how I look at it. Oscar will know him well, and have a bit of an inside track. If Oscar wants him here, it is a very good sign.

At what point did I say scoring quickly was the reason he is good ?

No I didn't.... What I said is that he has been good enough to force himself into the first team, the comment about him scoring was in reference to those saying his scoring record for the B squad isn't very prolific
