Why do the people in these photos always have to look so miserable?

"The club is going to send them an apology and a bunch of flowers and offer them free tickets and free travel to the game at Selhurst." That's the response from one of the CPFC chairman Steve browett on our forums, which is in uproar. They are not our fans, they're just there to cause trouble. We haven't gone through so much to end up like Millwall.

Well that's just making it worse.

Pathetic club from top to bottom....
A bunch of flowers ain't gonna help cook meals, clean the house etc a full time home help until the plaster cast is off would be more appropriate... Shameful response, Browett clearly is not fit for the role & should resign in shame

The article does look like they are milking it and probably rightly so. Regardless even if someone that age was calling me all the ****s under the sun I would just walk away, as I said, sad

Oh BBS, gotta love em.

It's now not only Hull fans who attacked the pensioners, the pensioners actually started it.

Did you read the account from the Palace fan who witnessed it ?
He said the elderly Hull gentleman got out of his car and started swinging his walking stick at a man aged 40/50. The man being hit with the stick was trying to grab the stick off of other man, but was defending himself, not attacking him.
Now if the elderly man and his wife were assaulted, the police need to throw the book at the attacker, there is no excuse for hitting pensioners.
Safe to say, it wasn't a planned attack by the feared HF, I am reliably informed they were waiting for the Hull City junior tiger cubs .

Sounds a bit like Adam Sandler in Anger Management to me.

Ok I've read what is being said here and I will have my 2p on the situation as I saw the beginnings of it.

From what I saw it looked like the pensioners in the car got out and started swinging their walking sticks at a man who appeared to be in his 40's-50's. I have no idea what made the pensioners get out of their car and start swinging their sticks like this I didn't see the very beginning of the altercation. The man was very restrained and what looked like trying to protect himself and whoever he was with (his son I believe not 100% sure). He didn't hit the people he was simply holding their walking sticks to refrain from being hit.

In the altercation people stepped in to either fight the man or stop the scuffle. The mans glasses were ripped from his face and he started asking for them back. I thought the altercation was over so I headed to the city centre. I was over the main road when I saw the same man who was refrainging the old couple from hitting him with their sticks be pushed and punched to the floor by 6 or 7 people who kept on hitting him whilst he was on the floor. Meanwhile a young man (again maybe his son) was trying to get him away back towards the train station.

Eventually he got up and went with the young man in the direction of the train station. The people in question did not seem to be wearing any Palace paraphernalia but may have had scarf's on I can't remember that much detail.

Yes I did, hence why I posted it, and I believe the infirm pensioners more than I would believe him.

Why would a 75 year old disabled man, with his 73 year old wife and 9 year old great grandson, get out of a car with a disabled badge on it pull the car over, get out, confront and threaten two grown men with walking sticks?

But as he posts, the pensioners started it so must have deserved a hiding.:tosser:

Not wishing to condone what happened but why on earth get out of the car to confront them? No doubt they had a mobile so why not just ring the police and maybe take a photo of the morons. They also queried why they were being stalked? Maybe because you tooted your horn at them! Should've just ignored them in the first place. They were probably pissed so hardly likely that you are going to be able to reason with them is it. Failing that, at that stage should've just stopped and sounded the horn constantly to attract attention from other supporters!!!

I also do not wish to condone what happened and agree with you here, but in the news report it says they had a 'stuffed tiger in their car'
The Palace fans could have been animal rights protesters, this could have been the reason they stalked the Hull fans car.
