My favourite series - the ashes in Australia mainly due to the time difference meaning the day's play starts in the early evening for me. Of course, that means that during play my life will consist of work, cricket and sleep only.

I'm really not buying into the idea that the Aussies will make it closer than last time or even win it. Clarke is not a good captain and all he has to do is tweak his back and he won't be much of a batsman either. I'm going for 3-0 England.

Note: all my sporting predictions are shit and invariably wrong.

2-1 to the Aussies , New zealand pretty much exposed our weaknesses with a on paper inferior team to the Aussies , i hope im proved wrong and we thrash them of course but i just cant cant see it .

Must say, I'm not massively confident.

The Aussies will get right on to Broad (annoying itself as it all stems from that "not walking" incident, and as we all know, they have an epic history when it comes to that), so it remains to be seen how he responds.

The last series was one of the least inspiring in recent memory, so I hope it's better than that at least. But our batting faltered too often last time round, so I fully anticipate discovering us to be 76/5 at some stage over the next few days.

Well I'm starting to get that nervous excitement now. I would happily take a scrappy draw in Brisbane but it is VITAL not to lose and give the convicts any sort of momentum. If we get a rub of the green and either bowl first and get some quick wickets or bat first and post a three figure opening partnership I will be ecstatic ! even if we go on to draw.

Hopefully we will grow in to the series and come back with Eric's partner.

I'd love to see us win the toss, bat and be 80/0 at lunch on the first morning to set the tone for the series.

I am a bit worried by Carberry, but in the absence of anyone else he'll have to do....he seems like he's in decent nick which is good.

I can't wait for it all to begin, can't stand the Australian cricket team.

Bring it on, I say. Broady's got a feisty side to him and I think he would respond well to a bit of sledging from the convicts. Must have a bit of his dad in him (if you know what I mean).

A lot depends on the first test and I'm worried we're a bit undercooked. A draw seems certain at Adelaide and the Aussies always win at Perth so it's vital we get at least a draw in Brisbane and I'm not feeling confident so I've gone Aussie win. They're saying its a quicker pitch in Brisbane than normal and I'm a bit worried Johnson and Harris are going to run through us. Still looking forward to it though!

Harris and Siddle are both class bowlers, but Harris is too fragile to play all 5 tests.

I'm not worried about Johnson, this might come back to bite me on the arse at 4am tomorrow morning as he is capable of rolling through teams if he gets on a run but he's had one decent series in ODIs and they're banging on about him as if he's the 2nd coming. He won't sustain it through a whole test match and if his confidence goes he'll be dropped quicker than a Monty catch on the boundary!

I'm confident Anderson and Broad are going to do the business and will be the stand out bowlers. In fact, I don't know if I'm just getting brash because I'm excited but the closer we get to the first ball the more confident I'm getting of an England win. They've been very vocal in the build up and there's been a bit of trash talk, it feels like they're trying to deflect attention away from their deficiencies.

Ahem. Wish you'd been right though! Think they've worked out we're not great against genuine pace so we're going to see a bunch of old fashioned fast Aussie pitches (except Adelaide - a drop in pitch likely to be as lifeless as Tess Daly's eyes)

Good call. Broad seems to answering his critics in the right way.

How about 91/8?
