I am the scourge of Los Santos streets the moment I step into (someone else's) car. Absolutely awful driver. Worse than George Michael.

Loving this game, although I'm not too sure if I like the virtually indestructible nature of the cars. In GTA's gone by, after some fearful abuse, smoke would start coming out of the bonnet and you'd have to dive out before it blew up, then nick someone elses.
This one though, I drove off the edge of a huge flyover at high speed last night in a convertable. Crashed into three buildings on the way down, landed upside down on a railway track, and got hit by a train. A prod of L1 and my car tipped itself back up, and I was on my merry way. It looked a mess, but the handling was fine, and the fold-down roof still worked.

Just discovered there's a way to get into that Military base on Online in free roam mode and get a Jet. It's an absolute MASCARA.
Agree with this. Cars can seem to drive up near vertical hills too. I drove up the side of the mountain next to the army base after breaking in and getting a 4* wanted level. A quick drive up the side of the mountain and no one had chased me so I lost the 4*s really quickly. Then chose to speed back down the mountain as quickly as possible, inevitably took off and flipped through the air before crashing down and rolling the rest of the way. I was fine and the car was fine (just missing all the doors, glass and bonnet). Being able to flip the car back up right is silly too.
As you say, I want black smoke to come out as a 10 second warning that the car is going to EXPLODE.

204.58 mph with Franklin. The other characters are nowhere near that though.

Last night I discovered the joys of using sticky bombs as assassination tools - particularly great for car chases. No more of having to carefully attempt to machine-gun tyres or overtake and shoot backwards, simply chuck a sticky bomb from right behind the car, slow down and then hit the kill switch. Brilliant.

it will turn free-roam into even more of a headache than it already is
and essentially make half the game pointless.......you are playing the game to earn money and level up. if its given to you then what is the point......

I did that in the mission where you have to assisnate some bloke leaving a hotel.
After a few failed attempts (as his car goes at a fair old clip, and he has some right bumhole security following him), I stole a 4x4 and strategically parked across the bottom of the road the diplomats car comes down. Stood at the bottom of the road, and waited. His car had an eppy as it couldn't get through. One nonchalently lobbed stickybomb onto the sitting duck and kaBOOM. The explosion took out his security car behind as well.
Jumped on my bike, hid behind a dumpster in an alley, and jobs a goodun.

In the pause menu, go across to the right a few times to "Online". Then go down to "Play GTA Online".
(Actually feels like I'm taking the piss explaining that!)

This game has deviated from the GTAs of old. Playing the stock market, getting insurance out on your cars (wtf!) Last night I even managed to get lured into an alley in a 'random event', some girl was screaming and next thing I know her and an accomplice mug me!
