The trouble with people denying what is happening is that it gets worse, this is getting reminiscent of Mickey Adams return in 2008 and it was nearly too late to save it

Micky Adams was clueless 2nd time around and totally dismantled the team we had and brought in a load of journeymen who didn't give a ****. In fact I wanted him gone after the game that we lost against 9 men at Withdean, can't remember who it was off the top of my head.

I'm not gonna bother repeating the current situation, suffice it to say the situation is not anywhere near the same apart from the fact that we have under performed in two of the last three games. Were we expected to beat Forest? From some of the hand wringing on here it seems we were.

Hope the players have more spirit and believe than some of our so called fans over the next few games

It is worrying when a side that takes the lead can't hang onto it, we have underperformed in most of the games so far

Worrying yes but we all know the reasons for it. If the same keeps happening once we have something close to our first team out there then I'll agree. Gonna be a tough season and it may well be bumpy along the way. Anyone who EXPECTED us to be up near the top is obviously disappointed, but hey oh that's football. I was one of those people, but the fates have conspired against us and sights are lowered.

The big worries to me are the lack of discipline in shape and marking, this does not have have much to do with the players out injured.

This is down to coaching and the ability of the management team to get or get buy in from the players in to what they want them to do. Or even worse this is what they want them to do.

Our starting eleven is not that weak all the players would most likely be in the first 18 every week and the back 5 are our first choice.

Once momentum is lost it can be very hard to turn around, massive gamble bringing in Oscar rather than a proven manager at this level who would have hit the ground running and had a much better network of potential signings.

We looked more interested against Forrest but I would have expected that, you often put more intensity into games against the big/best performing teams. Let's be honest we scored against the run of play and Forrest at times were opening us up at ease.

Interesting comments but cant agree we scored against the run of play...fairly even first half

Don't forget the fact that by the time Ulloa, CMS, Bridcutt and Orlandi are back, that there will ONLY be 29-30 more games to pick up points from. We're doomed.

I'm a bit concerned about so many having the expectation that a.)Ulloa, Bridcutt, CMS and Orlandi will all return to match fitness within a week or two of each other; b.) they all instantly slot into the team; c.) they all perform at their previous high levels (the example of Lopez playing at nowhere near last year's form is a prime example). Two of the four have not played under Garcia and his tactics may not suit their style of play.
One point from three games, no matter who the opposition is, is relegation form.

Lower mid table is about the worst we can do realistically, to get relegated with a squad like ours would be an absolute joke.

I reckon we'll finish smack bang in the middle at 12th, then next season we'll push for promotion.

All the warning signs are there. A lot is made of our impotency in front of goals, and this is a problem, but at least there are obvious reasons for it - i.e. Ulloa's absence, Orlandi's injury, Lopez's loss of form and Buckley's inconsistency. When fit and available, I feel we at least have the players capable of scoring a decent amount of goals.

What would massively concern me if I were involved with BHAFC would be the transformation of the defence. We were SO tight under Gus. Some might say boring, but we rarely conceded two goals in a game, and threes were unheard of. But now the marking is so poor. We may not have conceded too many goals this season (although I feel this will soon change) but the ones we have given away have been appalling. Bolton's, Millwall's, Ipswich's second, Derby's second, Forest's third - all of those should have been easily prevented. I think part of the problem is age. You simply cannot have Greer (almost 33), Upson (34), Bruno (33) and Calderon (not far off 32) as your first choice defenders. I think Greer's legs at this level went last season and we should have been looking to replace him rather than give him a new deal, and while we have two right-backs neither is really good enough. The other factor is the tactics, which now see the ball coming back at us a lot quicker and putting our defence under more pressure than they have been used to. This is the area that alarms me with Oscar.

I agree with most of your post - the most immediate issue is a lack of goals but hopefully only a short term issue due to injuries. However the bigger issue is the back four and we need to be rebuilding soon. They also miss having Bridcutt tidying up around them.

I do think if we posed more of a threat going forward and waste fewer chances that we create then the other teams won't be as expansive and the ball wont come back at us so fast, so indirectly keeping pressure off our own defence. Another bonus to having Bridcutt, Ulloa, CMS and Orlandi back.

By the way Gus did concede 3 goals a bit more often than you suggest - Palace (twice), Watford, Reading, Southampton, Swindon, Sheff Weds, West Ham and Ipswich come to mind and I didn't include Arsenal, Liverpool etc.

People don't want to hear reasoned argument like yours they would rather carry on with this suicidal Oscar love in. Nothing he has shown yet has given any confidence that he is up to the job, Avram Grant won a championship in Israel, nuff said

I recon we will still be mid table come Dec then push on higher when we are near full strength

I hope you're right but won't be easy. Unfortunately some of those forthcoming games feel a bit like 6 pointers now.

It would help if we can steady the ship a bit and start collecting some points while the bottom clubs can take points off those around us, like last season. It would also help to sign a competent loan striker. Then we can maintain a mid-table position until the injured players return and get match fit. I fear we might not see CMS until into the New Year.

I think the point is, we are 7 points from 6th and 7 points from 22nd. We have 1 fit striker, apparently that's what he is(no goals this season) and unless we get someone in he is the option for at least the next 2 months. We are not scoring enough goals and unless they have changed the rules, goals win games. Whilst I agree, I don't think we are far off being a top 6 side, I also think there are very fine lines in this division and you can be easily sucked into a relegation scrap.

Can you honestly point out, apart from the attempted over head kick, which lead to the goal, how is Barnes supposed to score when he gets **** all service. The defence yesterday was all over the shot, playing across the line, giving the ball away on too many occasions, yet in many eyes, it is all Barnes fault coz he didn't score. Your ****ing deluded like always.

I said in May that we would pay for the summer fiasco that Barber put us through with his ridiculous cock-waving. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of Gus going, you can't start 6 weeks behind everybody else, and expect to be challenging in the mid to long term. That's not Oscars fault, but I've yet to see a really convincing gameplan, despite the decent run we had.

Injuries aside, I genuinely don't think this squad is anything like strong enough to challenge for promotion AT ALL. And I don't agree with Blooms assessment that this squad is good enough for top 6.

The manager will get full support as he always should, but the jury is currently still out. However, If people are disappointed about how this season has progressed, there is a far more appropriate place your ire should be directed, and he sits on his glass tower in the club offices (and he literally sits there and doesn't talk to anybody).

And it seems you and a few other posters dont want to hear anything which actually supports the team/club/manager and would rather carry on spreading your anti-manager/team message......

The irony......

Have you got £200m to spare? - because it sounds like you should be making a takeover bid for the Club if you are so unhappy with Tony Bloom or Paul Barber.

Doing things correctly, legally is cock waving? Poyet went due to gross misconduct, that just cock waving?

We will probably be in League One again one day, I don't think it will be next season but I doubt we will be able to stay in the Championship forever.

Oscar spent most of his career at a club who didn't tolerate anything but being in the top two. A club where fans turn on the manager after a couple of bad defeats, I imagine he finds the support he is receiving during this transition as refreshing as most of us find his comments.

Gus, on the field, is a very hard act to follow, especially with the bare bones squad we have at the moment. I think we were always likely to concede more goals with the way Oscar tries to play and if we can't put the ball in the net more often than the opposition, this will become a major issue.

Does TB expect a quick turn around in fortunes? He was not slow in his desire to get rid of McGhee or Slade. Maybe he will sack Oscar if we don't turn it around soon, maybe he will give him at least a season to do it.

These are undoubtably testing times, if the crowd turns Oscar's days may well be numbered. They are not turning at the matches yet but there seems to be gathering swell of doubt on NSC so that may come soon enough if results don't improve.
