That part of the world always has and always will be a world of shit. The obsession with our nose poking version of democracy and their history of extremeism does not meet in the middle. There will never be peace there as long as I have a hole in my arse. More fool us for being America's lap dog

It's about secularism. Same deal as in Turkey.

Egypt was always a nation of great diversity. Islam threatens that diversity.

If those who value secular socities don't make a stand they'll get swept over by the radicals.

That me be so in some cases but it does not change the facts I guess. Israelis & the Palestinians is a classic example of there never having a hope in hell in sorting their differences out.

Mixid Religious and Multi cultural societies are becoming more and more hostile as the human population grows

Agree that US is far too interested in Jewish opinion and too friendly with Israel. It's not Jewish votes they want but rather Jewish money and favourable media.

Yeah coz all Jews are really rich and control the media.

Why arnt these guys getting banned too? Blatant anti-Semitism.

Which is why any group seeking to support secular societies should be supported.

The US is run by Israel supporters as Governments there need the Jewish vote. A weakened Egypt will always benefit Israel. Division amongst Arabs is great news for Israel.

I doubt the Iranian people will see much benefit from this either.

Nonsense. Israel under Mubarak was considered an ally of Israel against Islamists in Gaza and Iran.

Weak Arab states that are vulnerable to being overrun by Islamists, and in turn more likely to fall within the Iranian sphere of influence, is obviously bad news for Israel.

The Yanks don't like dictatorship and want their preferred party in charge , so they can expand their empire and we as ass lickers to the Yanks all the time go along with it .
1) nobody wants a dictatorship in any country. 2) Yawn... to the rest of your ill informed comment.

Is the voice of common sense,... a rarity amongst some of the lefty 'right-on' brigade on this site.

...because is ok to be blatantly discriminatory and bigoted as long as your target is right of centre, didn't you know that?.... the mods on here will never ban anyone for anti-Semitism, but have a pop at the disabled, or display overt sexism and you will be for the bin, very quickly.

That's fine because they own it. Unlike Israel who likes to steal it !
You mean Gaza, Golan Heights and the West Bank?

1) Gaza was captured by Israel from Egypt after Israel was attacked first in the 6 day war, it has now handed it back to the Palestinians.
2) The West bank was captured from Jordon the same war, Jordan however signed over this territory to Israel and renounced claims to it some years later.
3) All the territory captured from Syria in the Golan Heights has now been handed back to Syria.

I am assuming you mean the development of jewish settlements in the West Bank, this is obviously against the previous agreements ( UN sponsored), but don't forget, that technically is still Israel, they are not stealing other nations territory.

I think we will nick it 1-2, Ulloa with 2. Egypt can do one by the way, hopefully they'll all shoot each and we won't need to worry.

America wants dictators in all countries as long as they are on their side. Right not Left and non Islamist. The best examples being their support of Saddam Hussein throughout the 1980's and supporting Pol Pot during the Cambodian genocide. In the latter Britain sent the SAS to train Pol Pots men on the request of Ronald Reagan. Millions died. Pinochet was another favourite.

Didn't Israel start the 6 day war?

You contradict yourself there.

You said they don't want left wing dictators but then say they supported Pol Pot, a very left wing dictator.

So what is it?
