Didn't we do something similar a few years ago - someone paid to be in the first team squad (No.99 I think). Can't remember if he got a run out or just his name in the programme?

I'm not sure the League can object as long as the 'player' is properly registered. A few seasons back the Doncaster Rovers chairman, John Ryan, came on for the last 10 minutes of a game to become the oldest ever league player

I think you're mistaken. Macclesfield is in Cheshire, the part of the country that's been dubbed the 'southeast in the northwest'. Quite affluent around there and the house prices reflect this.

OK, so say they do this 5 times next season and get the 100k they need to avoid going into administration, they won't lose 10 points, or whatever the punishment will be
