I'm half-expecting Gus to get the Toon job. Ashley probably told Pardew not to jump last week as we were about to sack Gus. "Hang on for a few days, you'll get half a million of the £2.5 million I'd otherwise have to have paid Brighton" or something similar.

If Poyet gets the Toon job we get nothing because he isn't our employee any longer. He's been sacked.

Don't be too sure. He has been sacked for breach of contract. I think we can still sue him for the value of his contract. This is the only reason I can think of as to why the club never just "sacked" him in the traditional football way. I don't think this saga is over by a long way yet.
