Oh marvellous!, I'm playing the long game and so going into today's stage like a Schleck, and then I get dealt this blow

You watched the SBS coverage too? Don't believe the hype, third in that hilly California TT does not equate to high placing on a flat one like this. Especially with the addition of Froome, Porte, Martin, Kiriyenka, Castroviejo, Coppel, Kwiatkowski etc etc.

Oh pooh bums.
I was French all the way yesterday (well the last 10kms), I thought I was being clever.

Last night I actually put some effort in to finding a sub 7 point ITT's.
Well one that at least knew which way round to sit!!.

I couldn't afford Dennis, but I stumbled across him while checking the Under 23 ITT World Champs results .
Obviously it's Martin's too lose, but I don't see the Sky big boys killing themselves to chase him down, leaving space for someone with nothing to lose.

Oh and I went with Kristijan Durasek, runner up in last years Croatian ITT, the fact I probably could have won it is neither here or there.

Eloy Teruel is my secret weapon. 8th in the Tour de San Luis Time Trial, might scrape a top 20, I suppose. Brought Kwiatkowski and Porte in too, playing the long game with tomorrow in mind rather than bringing in Martin and having to substitute him straight out, especially with him having a stomach bug too. I take it your french did not stretch to picking that up.

As for Durasek; you did some research and went for a guy who finished:

143rd in San Luis
176th and 78th in Paris Nice
100th in Romandie
154th and 91st in the Giro

I think that deserves one of these

Nope, the only coverage I've seen so far is stage one. I don't expect my team to score much today. As I said...playing the long game. I am hoping Rohan Dennis provides good value, and he fits into future plans quite nicely.

Shows what I know. Very good from Dennis, Yellow for him tonight by the looks of things.

Great ride from him. I've got 1,2,3 and 5 on today's stage. Might have known 1066 would have Dennis as well!!!

I couldn't afford Dennis, unfortunately. I really wanted Porte and Kwiatkowski in. Still trying to recover from starting with two Europcar riders and neither being the correct one.

My secret weapon Teruel came 20th though, so that worked out

Ok I've got one other lead to follow, but that's sketchy to say the least.
Prendas, not being magicians couldn't help.

Here's http://www.champ-sys.co.uk/#!tech-cap/cd1fare the 'professional' outfit I mailed who replied:-

...We'd be able to produce your design onto one of our caps and would suggest our Tech Cap if you want the stripes to run front to back...Please note that FedEx delivery charge (5%, minimum £20) and then VAT (20%) gets added to the total.

The £7 plus delivery and then plus vat does include design, as long as we are not actually creating logos for you. Do you have files of the logos you want to include? We can finalise the artwork for you in our templates if you send us vector files of the logos - ai, eps or pdf files - this service is Free. Once you pay a small deposit of £200 (this is not a fee, it will be deducted from your first order value) we can schedule the artwork at our end or you can upload your own designs... We are currently delivering kit to UK & Irish clubs within approx. 6 to 8 weeks of the date of approval of your final artwork (assuming your order has been placed and a deposit of 50% paid)

With this being a NOT FOR PROFIT venture, I, well my credit card, could carry the burden but obviously that ain't happening if the 25 aren't sold:-

£7 x 25 = £175.00 + £20 = £195.00 + 20% = £234 / 25 = £9.36 (please check my maths, it never was a strong point)
Plus on top of that, you'll need to pay your postage, from me to you. I've used all my free stamps this year.

We also need some consensus on the wording, as per previous 'caps' post below:-

Which leads onto the caps themselves.
Design by committee never works. Here's the template we've kind of been working to, if my memory serves:-

Colour - Brighton Blue. Pantone colour ref, to be sourced.
.......... 2 or 4 white stripes from front to back across the centre panel.

White lettering - Bold block right side ??
........................ Bold block left side ??

....................... smaller 'hand written' back northstandchat then below cycling geeks, preferably something more Italic, but you get the point.

....... Brim side - Albion logo

That would leave space at the front and top of the brim, if we decided to not have the stripes reaching the edge.

I'm thinking we should be bombarding one of the lesser terrestrial channels to show cycling highlights of an evening. Seems to be a massive interest in it innit.

I believe the tour and x amount of other week long event owners The ASO are pretty much in bed with Eurosport, which ITV4 can't get in on.
The obvious exception being Le Tour, but the production company that runs that coverage. predates Eurosport.
Plus they do the best food in the media village, which is very important!!.

ITV4 did have highlights of the Spring classics.
They even showed the Tour of California last year.
I think the Vuelta was covered maybe last year certainly the year before.

I think it's coming. This years Tour viewing figures should be comparatively massive, plus the 5-live coverage, all of which is going to need to be in place, before we get the volume of coverage that Eurosport provide.

Always love watching Le Tour highlights of an evening. Giro highlights would have been equally grand, especially with the drama of the weather. hopefully one or other of our terrestrial broadcasters will realise they're missing a major trick here.

Can you please keep quoting this one post when adding your name, so it becomes a 'mailing list'.

I'm still not going to commit 100% to the venture.
As this list grows, I'll start putting stuff together.
A couple of days before I'm on the phone shaking and sweating with my credit card in hand, if your names on this list expect a PM which will be your official order confirmation.

Matt Rendell was trying to show coverage of either Oman or Turkey, earlier this year.
Everything was in place, camera, commentary, him hanging off a motorbike etc, but still nobody would pick it up.
