It's all about salaries, i.e. Charlie Adam = £4m-£5m midfielder but was on more money at Liverpool than £35m Andy Carroll - about £65K a week vs £63K a week. I read this in their accounts.

Hence my spreadsheet - where do you think we'd set our wage cap were we in the Prem? I've gone for 20k.

no-one english, so as many sexy latino flair lords as you can get for £25m

actually...wayne bridge, i'd sign him for free....but as for money signings i'd want us going PURE LATINO

and this van dijk fellow

and i'd want us to tick off a few new nationalities, especially the under utilised asian market....a japanese international is an absolute must

and a RUSSIAN

I think in order to survive in the Prem we'd need more zip about our play, better movement, and this is where Gus's Spanish contacts could pay dividends.

I like the sound of Van Dijk, and also think Phil Neville, Huth, Granero, Guidetti, Townsend and Zamora plus Upson and Bridge would be on that list. Aaron Ramsey's place might be in doubt if Arsenal spend big in the summer but you've got to think he'll be Cardiff's No. 1 target.

The good news for us if we go up via the play-offs is that the two automatically promoted with a head start in the transfer market happen to be Cardiff and Hull, as opposed to last year's Reading and Southampton. Whereas the latter could hoover up any decent players floating around I can't imagine too many players would want to relocate to Cardiff or Hull.

I for one can't believe Granero doesn't start games for QPR. It makes me think SOMETHING has gone on behind the scenes because, at the start of the season, he was their ONLY player with any form of ability.

I mean they guy played for REAL MADRID yet can't get in a SHYTE QPR team. It's madness.

Oh my god - D-Beck would be the ultimate. I'd give him alone 25m, for one year.

so would i for 3 reasons...

1 - Beckham crosses for Ulloa goalllllllllllllllllllllllll

2 - He would put Brighton and Hove Albion FC on the global map - which would make us a lot of money.

3 - he's d-becks FFS!!

Ideally I would want someone with the skills to emulate YEBOAH. ButI'm not sure that the person even exists today.

Put Gus on the train to Spain with the 25m in his pocket. If Ulloa, Dave, Vicente and Bruno cost about 2m for the lot... then could buy a lorry load of latino talent for his 25m!

Nice post. I would buy the following players

Bridge
Upson
Lamps
Mamadou Diarra
Saviola
Joaquin
Kev Doyle
Chris Burke

All out of contract at end of this season would be a matter of wages and signing fees etc

You could easily spend £25M in the Prem and not buy anybody worth a shit. Just ask Sandbanks resident 'arry. The future is paying talented talent scouts more than spiv managers.
