Stadium shop always seems to have more staff than needed when ever I pop in, generally out of peak time.
But my big complaint is why can we NOT park OUTSIDE the stadium shop during the week. There is a large tarmac area where parking a car for 10 minutes would encourage fans to pop in whilst driving by. Parking in the 1901 car park means a long walk and means popping in takes 30 minutes.

If you could park outside the Amex shop you wouldn't need a steward to tell you not to park there.

My point was the 6 members of staff in there standing around. Why so many?

Because their is a Concourse sale at the ground tomorrow that needs planning & bodies to move stuff.
Have you nothing better to do than stare into shop windows & make uninformed public criticism of members of 'our' staff so readily?

In a pile of football shirts
Ok - I'll take back the poor quality bit, but it is terribly overpriced in my opinion. Then again, most football shirts are. Do you ever envisage a day when you can get the replica shirts in places like 'Sports Direct'?

When we make the Premier League there are a number of outlets that sell EPL shirts (like Sports Direct and online retailers), there's a good chance they'll want to take a stock of our shirts to sell, it will depend on what deal can be done between the club and the retailers. I can see local(ish) Sports Direct etc wanting to take them on for sure. Aslo the exposure for Amex would be great, locally, in the UK and worldwide, and I know for certain there are buyers out there, world wide, who buy all the EPL teams shirts every time they change, for their collections, strange bunch really.

As for overpriced, certainly replica shirts are, but it's the same the world over, in fact, in the UK we are one of the cheapest, many European countries are getting on for e80 - e100 for replicas, in the States, Far East, Australia, you're often looking at equivalent US$100+. South America is around the £40 mark in general, though sometimes teams in South America can have as many as 6 or 8 kits a season!

I was in there making a purchase, not for the first time and no one looked like they were moving or planning anything other than a tea break.

Have noticed a big decrease in the number of non matchday security at the Amex. Popped over last week and saw 2, compared to at least 6 previously. Incidentally disabled with blue badge can park outside the shop :)

Now the construction work is done, you can park in the north stand car park. The Queens Rd shop is handy for nipping in at lunchtime from work. It also gives us a presence in the centre.

My wife was unimpressed when she popped in there one Saturday afternoon, while we were playing at home, and the staff in there were listening to Radio 1 rather than the game.

There were probably avoiding the result until the match DVD came in.

Always seems busyish to me when I've been in. strange the 40something bloke wears shirts n flipflops, looks totally out of place and weird. Saying that, mate, was after a 10year birthday card which was not in stock, guy said he would get one from the stadium and bring it in the next day, which he did.

I think it gets busier during the summer. When I went in last year during the summer, it was packed with Spanish students buying Brighton replica kits, even getting them named with Vicente. In fact, they seemed to be buying everything in the shop with his name on, so we may be in for bumper Spanish sales this year as well. Obviously if there was only the Amex shop, you wouldn't necessarily get this passing trade.

Since St Mary's opened, Southampton have had a smallish shop in WestQuay shopping centre, even when they were in League 1. As the club haven't moved into one of the empty units in Churchill Square I can only presume it's more economically viable to have a larger unit in Queens Road than a smaller one in CS.

Saints West Quay Shop is pretty big. Must be twice the size of the Albions Queens road store.

Where does it say that all employees of the club have to be supporters? Surley most people with an unterest in the game would be at the Amex rather than listening on the radio in a shop?

The club even used to employ a PALACE fan in the ticket office.
