I'd say quite a bit has happened.

please enlighten, because from what i've seen its never even been confirmed he even talked to them, let alone if those talks were anything serious, or if there had been any tension with us, or promises made to keep him staying. ofc, like so many rumours, all these things will be laid down as fact now forever more, to be dragged up in the future when few recall that they may never have actually happened. so history is written.

If you don't believe something has gone on then fair enough. I'd say it pretty obvious something has happened behind the scenes. But Gus is still here, so whatever it was is sorted....For the time being anyway.

Ironic if it was Jason Roberts.

Yes I know he's injured before you poke me in the eye.

i didnt say that, just sceptical how much has happened or how seriously it was taken. its a long way from what we know to being safe to assume he's been given a funding to bring in a striker. and we dont know he didnt already have the green light for this before Tuesday. thats the funny thing, people will conclude now that any new player was a direct result of Gus threatening to leave. took long enough to get Ulloa (assuming he was always the special one...) i dont expect he'll be after a big target but cover.

I'd say quite a bit has happened. Just because everyone is still in the same job they were 2 days ago, does not mean nothing has changed.

I agree, I reckon something has changed. Gus must now feel he can take us further, which means a striker and a better budget next year, possibly.

i love how rumours are layered and compounded upon other rumours, so that when one event occurs or doesnt, it means another event must have occured or hasnt. yet nothing has actually happened or changed.
Indeed.

We've got our target man, now we need a small lad to go up top with him, we give CMS another chance
Er...

So Gus has said 'look Tony, other teams will give me a job and budget if you don't' and Tony has said 'oh alright then'?

I don't buy it. Tony is well aware that Gus could get a decent job elsewhere, and Tony is aware that other Championship sides are spending more than us. He's not going to up his striker budget just because someone came calling. Tony already knows how much it's worth to us to get promoted, and would probably spend on a decent loan signing anyway. The problem is, finding a decent striker that a club would let go at this stage of the season, and Reading wanting Gus won't change that.
