why would you expect him to answer "what went wrong"? "so, Apple came along and marketed this lifestyle product and our business product didnt seem so cool anymore..."etc actually, not alot did go wrong, they stayed in the game but couldnt grow in a bigger market. consider WebOS and Symbian which have disappeared and Windows Phone pre Windows8.

I wouldn't but you have done a far better and clearer job than matey did all morning.

You might want to tidy up the first bit, but other than that, get yourself at job at BB, and stick at least one zero at the end of your current pay cheque.

Shhhhh.... don't let Bozza hear you say that,.... I try to keep my dot dot ramblings to a minimum where Apple is concerned..... he doesn't like it.

They can't answer the simplest of questions, no wonder why they can't make a decent phone.

I like how the guy starts off the interview with the claim that RIM basically invented the smartphone, which is a complete lie.

Sounds like a politician deflecting questions about an embarrassing policy u-turn. He's lucky Paxman wasn't interviewing him or he'd be toast

Wife and I watched that interview this morning. Absolutely hilarious scenes. As others have said, you're really not going to be bothered with his product are you, if he isn't even prepared to identify where the company has gone wrong and what they're going to do to fix it?

Had he made a reference to Apple it would have been dealt with but his evasion then became the story rather than the product and that appeared to follow him all day. Big PR faux pas! Might have to answer questions at the next shareholders meeting!!!

was a bit cheeky, though has some merit. they've been doing them since early 00's and certainly made them fairly common before the fruity lot came along, though i think the Nokia communicator was first. Paxman would have asked some more interesting questions.

He works for RIM/Blackberry why would he really, they get enough publicity.

He may have been better off talking about Apple products to divert attention away from their shit one.

My Blackberry provided for work is just about useable for emails but for anything else it is just woeful. I really do not understand why anyone would use one out of choice.

integration into the corporate email, security, BBM and it really is alot better on writing email lets be honest. the kids love em for BBM and that keyboard. they were pretty good until they tried half heartedly to keep up with Apple.

To be honest I prefer emailing from my iPhone and its hopeless as a phone as I can't see the numbers and the buttons are too small, I have yet to get the map app to work and have you tried accessing the Internet on one? Hopeless.

It's only saving grace is that the battery lasts ages, mostly because I only ever check emails on it!

Having heard the 3 interviews, i can't believe this guy being in the position he is in had not had any PR / interview training.
He completely ignored any questions put to him and just read out pre prepared speech.
He should never go in front a microphone again.
His performance was abysmal and will only have done his company/product harm.
These interviews will be used again again it training sessions on how not to conduct yourself in interviews.
The oldest basic and fundamental advice was ignored, two ears and one mouth use them in this ratio, react to what is being said to you.
His board are not going to be happy with him
