Is it possible for those living on the edge of (NSC) society to have a foot in both camps?

Sure plenty of people will trot out the obvious statement:-

'I support everyone who plays for the Albion no matter what'.

But for those who like a polarising blinkered debate, centre forward has been the position to concentrate on.

Barnes played well but I've still picked at his short comings, while pointing out the difference I think CMS would have made.
I can't help thinking the praise being heaped on Barnes is coming solely from the people who have spent the last 3 months sticking it to CMS.

I think you'd be wrong. Both have their qualities and shortcomings.
Yeah that's what I said elsewhere.
If we squidged them together into 1 forward, we'd have the player we want/need.

I'm Team CMS, but I'm pretty sure I did let that cloud my opinions on Barnes' performance.
Although I certainly don't recognise the claims that he was MoM, hence wondering if anyone will own up to the reverse.

Can someone have a foot in neither camp?
Yeah you're the soppy sack trotting out the party line

This is for us blinker wearers to 'fess up.

How do you know? I might just think they're both shit! :)
Ok then ... backing away slowly ... that's an opinion too ... you have a good day now!

Do you have to align to one or the other? They both have strengths and weaknesses, and to criticise their flaws doesn't mean you don't appreciate their positives.

Barnes has a better first touch generally, and can hold the ball up better. CMS has the pace and ability to harass defenders better than Barnes. Barnes fits into a Gus type team better than CMS so gets my vote. I can see CMS looking a much better player in teams that lump it forward, early season we did seem to try that option and CMS and us looked better for it. However he seems to have lost confidence and hence we don't seem to give him tHe balls he prefers quite so often.

CMS super fans have to remember that he has had loads of game time as a lone striker, yesterday was the first time for ages that Barnes has played that position and I felt happier with him there than I have with CMS, at home, for a while now. Maybe we can save CMS for away games and as an impact sub if he is gonna stay? Both have their pluses and minuses but may lose the lone striker position to Ulloa very shortly, even if they both stay

Nah we wouldn't. That player would still not have a good enough first touch nor be good enough at holding the ball up and drawing fouls, even though Barnes is better at these things, he's still not quite at the quality we need for someone "leading the line".

Hopefully Ulloa is everything he's meant to be. If so, he's the answer.

I agree with 8ace and Icy Gull.

Could Norwich be interested in CMS because they see him working well with a lump like Holt? Maybe CMS would benefit from playing alongside the new fella (and likewise)?

No shit Sherlock......... that's what we have been saying for months and months, he needs a foil, someone to do one twos with, someone who can flick and head a ball on.
