I really think both parties should cut their losses sooner rather than later. CMS may make a major difference somewhere. But not here.
If i were CMS My loyality would certainly be tested.
If CMS were to leave and be succesful elsewhere then we'd definitely have problems, so soon after Noone left and did the exact same thing.

I agree with every one of your posts in this thread Stat Brother. Gus' tactics seem so rigid and we don't have the players to play the formation he so stubbornly chooses every week. Why did we sign La Liga player David Lopez if he's never going to play? Why did we sign top-level Championship CAM/Striker Dobbie if he rarely gets a good run of games and comes off after playing 55minutes on the wing.

It's so infuriating to watch week in, week out when I know this year is the weakest Championship in years, our best squad in years and our best chance of getting promoted in my lifetime, yet Gus still fucks it up with his shit formation and his lack of being able to get the best out of our players.

I think we do have the players, Gus just seems hell bent in either not playing them or tying them to Bridcutt.
Orlandi is a prime example of a player needing a few games before hitting some form.

We are running out of time for Dave, Dobbie, KLL, Crofts, and to a lesser extent Hoskins, to come in and make a difference.

Might be infuriating, but at least we now look comfortable in this division. This season looks to be one of establishing a rock solid defence, which - barring yesterday's defeat to the league leaders - is mission accomplished. The management and above will be well aware that its the lack of attacking threat that is now pegging us back, and it looks nailed on that this is the area that will be top priority next season, if not in January. Depends on how impatient the chairman is for the Premier League. But it's coming. It's finally coming. Keep the faith and renew the season ticket!

West, West, West Sussex.
Much of my reasoning for CMS to set the league on fire, just hasn't come true.
But not because of CMS, but because we are still playing a shit defensive formation.
Yesterday Buckley was taken out of the game and Orlandi moved back into defence, so that was it CMS was on a hiding to nothing again.
He gets no support
Barnes isn't up to it.
Dobbie, Dave, KLL, Vicente don't play.
He has no other forward at the club (Toby who)

If I were CMS id be thinking long and hard about the next offer and what that manager can offer him.
Because his current manager seems unable to field a team conducive to scoring.

Yes, I agree. That's why I'm also still team cms.

You do have a point, one of my main 'annoyances' last season was with the keeper and full-backs and Gus has done a great job of replacing them. I just feel like it's this year or never, when will the Championship be this weak again?
How long will the 25k crowds continue to be able to fund and attract new players?
What happens when Bridge leaves and Bruno/Kuszsak/Bricutt all leave or retire (I'm not too worried about Buckley leaving, wingers are easier to replace)?
We could slip into become a mid-table Championship team with no ambition like Ipswich if we don't take this golden opportunity which has arisen.

If we do strengthen our strikers in the summer I suppose i'll be happier :)

Barnes gives plenty of support and plays out of position just to cater for CMS

He set Craig up with both chances and missed both as usual

I still can't believe that we have a player of that quality available for selection. All we need now is a new manager to get the best out of CMS.

His goals/chances ratio has never been that good... Peterborough created lots of chances for him to score those goals

Yeah he has missed some sitters, but scored couple of class goals as well, and as regard to deflections and pens does that REALLY matter ? Most of the leading scorers in this division, Murray, King etc all take pens.

If we want a player who is going to tuck every chance away you are then looking at a Austin/Rhodes type fee. Although we paid £2.5m for CMS that doesn't actually seem to be a lot for a goal scorer in this league when we look at Rhodes fee and how much Rodriguez went to Stains for.

CMS hasn't worked out like most of us dreamed but he is still well on course for 15-20 goals yet still deemed not good enough by some on here who can't wait to get Hoskins in because he looks good. I like Hoskins as well but a player who scored one goal while on loan at Sheff Utd is suddenly better than CMS ?

He is the scapegoat because he has missed a few sitters and sadly cost such a high fee, Poyet needs to change in order to get the best out of him.

Well said ....

I feel sorry for the guy, Gus said he would build the team around him and hasn't at all. We shouldn't have got him in if we aren't going to play to his strengths!

And have another Murray on our hands when he scores 25 goals for leeds a season for example.

Thats all this board needs is another 3 threads every week when CMS scores like Murray.

yep with you Brother.

CMS a great player and on another level superb ambassador for the club. Just been working in Scotland and they all know about Brighton because of the CMS connection.

Agree he had poor service Saturday due to the sending off, but once he was released early in the second half I thought we were back on terms, however that moment was a game changer.

The more service we can get him, the more he will score. Agree he still needs a decent partner be it Dobbie, Hoskins especially at home.

Next year? Southampton and QPR look utter shithouse at the moment. I see us finishing higher (for the FOURTH season in a row under Gus, people forget) again this season then strengthening with 1-2 real quality signings, and being very good next season.

Yes, and we are still a work in progress, after another few signings next summer, the building work complete in the stadium, the training ground well under way, our attempt at another title will be more realistic.
