Bolton home tickets released for sale

3 days before kick off - bit short notice!

Sorry if you were organised and spent £34 in an area you had no other choice to sit in.

For those who are not organised and leave things to the last minute you can now take your pick of

£28 tickets in a choice of 2 south stand blocks
£28 tickets in the SE corner - good if you like some banter with the away fans
£34 tickets is the ESU.

If you leave things even longer and these sell out too, then I suspect there will be about a third of S1F offered, directly behind the goal.

Sadly, though, for Bristol next week, only £34 tickets are avaialble.

Reference: Is this ever going to be rectified?

Poor form and any suggestion that it saves on stewarding is wrong given that a load of seats not released are in areas already occupied by STH's and fans can move around that South end anyway.

I'm after 2 in S1G/H for the Forest game and have to go on almost daily to see if added

i feel they should lower the prices and it will get people through the gates

That's not the subject at all here. Bolton will likely be a home sell out (or near as dam it).

The issue we are discussing is why only the most expensive tickets are offered for sale first. If you are organised and buy when they go on sale, you pay top dollar and have no choice.

If you leave it late, there is a choice of stands and the option to buy a ticket for £28.

From what I can gather they don't initially release the cheap South Stand tickets as the away team may 'suddenly' demand their full allocation. Hence they sell the expensive East Stand tickets first, then when it's too late for the away team to turn round and say, "Actually we want our full allocation now" they finally make the cheap seats available.

Not sure that explains why ALL the South Stand tickets are always marked as 'unavailable' on-line.

That "might" be the case for the areas to the east side of the south (although unlikely in the case of a midweek for Brizzol) but def not the case for the areas to the west side, much of which is occupied by home STH's anyway. It's just a pretty blunt instrument to try and force those wanting to attend to have to buy the most expensive seats ... a bit more revenue maybe but it's nickel and diming and there will be those that just can't stretch to the prices of some seats

No, I agree. And as a non-STH who got 'stung' like that for Peterborough (just assumed that the South had sold out and East was all that was available) this is a subject I shall follow with interest.

People need to gauge what the likely away support is going to be. Some clubs like to take a small initial allocation (1,000) before asking for more. Clubs with large away followings suggests to me that if they don't sell their 2,000 and upwards allocation there maybe a few seats available at £34 in ESL only.

The seats that have just become available in the Westerly 2 blocks of the south, should always be available. These will have no baring on what the away support it.

The same can be said o the Eastern half of S1G. This has never been sold to STH's and is only ever offered as a last knockings if all else have gone. Not all of this can be offered as we understand some seats will be kept for segreation, but never half a block.

Insiders answer about keeping stewarding costs down does not wash here either, as even when this area is not sold, punters who are in the western half of S1G have been free to take seats the other side of the isle is they wished.

I understand what Insider says about sponsors returning tickets - I guess this is what happens if the ESU and those that appear every game in the WSL (north end).

I also understand that we have to wait and see if the visiting club returning any tickets or do not take their full allocation - like Bolton, which I guess is why the SE corners are now at least partly available (will more become available here?)

But why those is S1G (eastern half) and the ones in the South and the SW corner are not offered, I have no idea. These remained unsold when season tickets sales could be viewed before the first game and only every appear a few days out.

It really can be just plain profiteering, which is to say the least a very big shame.

Apol's if I'm missing your point but there's loads of seats available in the South both behind the goal and round the entire SW corner .. that's a home area not impacted at all by away following but the seats aren't released as they are the lower priced ones

I think the club has adopted a single marketing strategy and they anticipate the panic buying mode of supporters who don't have a clue on the level of support the away side will bring. The impression I get is the club wants to sell the £34 seats first and then a few days before the match trickle release the £28 tickets. This would explain why tickets in the South Stand (home section) and South West Corner are kept back alongside any potential tickets in the South East Corner.

This. Got my tickets three weeks ago at £34 a ticket and no choice of stand. It's not right.

I cant see the point of those tickets being £34, In my opinion there is no way that they are worth that amount of money. they should be sold at the same price as the away tickets in the south to away fans.

Yes we need to make money, but lets try and not rip everyone off. those seats but in the north end are far cheaper as its the family stand, its a joke to charge some £34 to be sat one end of the ground.
