Gus has absolutely no chance of even being considered for the job let alone getting an interview. He'd have to get us promoted in style and get us into the top 6 before he'd stand any chance at all imo. He'd be better off taking the Uruguay job and getting them to the WC semi finals to get a sniff of the Chelsea job imo.

I agree. As yet, Gus certainly hasn't done enough to put him in the running for one of the top Premiership jobs - and thank goodness for that.

I agree with you but something in the back of my mind reminds me of the Palace fans saying the same about DF !!!!

I think this is a little different, somehow.

I think there is very little chance, but if he did go, we could keep the manager's job open and he would be back in about 247days, 5 hrs 7 mins.

About 50/1 - so near enough no chance of it happening. Appointing a former player with only experience of managing 1 club backfired so the Russian joke wont do it again.

well this was an obvious thread, poor old Gus seems to have become the new Martin O'Neill, linked with ever managerial job going

The BBC are puffing Chelsea's intention to a appoint a " stop gap " manager, which is hilarious given the fact that most long term appointments at Chelsea end up as stop gaps.

Urgh, can't stand these threads it makes Brighton fans look deluded

Don't think there's a team in the prem who would appoint Gus over all the other better qualified managers available

To the Albion so he can be closer to his house in Ferring? :jester:

Zamora, Beckham, Drogba (to please Stat Brother), and Lampard. It promises to be a very interesting transfer window...

How are we looking deluded when I don't think ANYONE has suggested he would be anywhere near the list of candidates, and the thread was set up as a bit of a joke, anyway?

No chance that Poyet will be anywhere within range of Abramovich's radar whatsoever. Guardiola is his target with Benitez as his stop gap until Guardiola finishes his sabbatical is what Abramovich will be working towards and I would imagine that the Benitez side of the deal will have been cut before Chelsea even kicked off in Turin last night.
