Smart Card e-cash issues

I've got that auto top-up thing set up on my season ticket so when it goes below a score it tops up with another score.
The last time I used it to buy a round of drinks was Middlesboro, when, according to my bank and the e-cash website, another £20 was added. I tried to use it at the Leeds game but it said I only had about £6 on it so I checked when I got home and according to the e-cash website I had £26 odd on it. So I tried to use it again last night - card reader said £6 again
I mentioned this to the kiddy behind the jump and he said this had happened to quite a few people.

Anyway two questions:
1. Has this happened to anyone else on here?
2. Do I have to go to the AMEX to sort this out or can I do it in Queens Rd?

Not had that problem, mine is set up for £30 top-up and always gone through ok (except right at the start when two lots went through)

Yes and the explanation is that you need to leave your card on the reader for up to 30 seconds to allow time for the card to be updated from the system - Hope this helps

Yep, I had a £40 top up showing in bank account and e-cash online. Unfortunately the kiosks only saw the residual balance of £3 something and suggested I went to the shop to sort it... thanks I said. Rang the club the following week, they couldn't solve it, so they gave me a new card and trfd all the money, simple. But it does seem to be a common problem, there had been several other queries the same.

Cheers, looks like I'll have to head down the shop tomorrow :(

I did notice that mine showed the wrong balance at the Leeds game, but it did let me purchase at the Posh game and updated the balance correctly that evening.

It could have been disastrous, as I had only taken the card to the game, leaving my wallet in the car.

Mine is on an auto-topup also, by the way.
