On the face of it I'd have to agree, but as an Albion fan I'm hoping your chairman is an interferring twat who will drive any half decent prospect away with a crap budget, low wage and a say in team selection. You'll understand why I'm hoping that of course

I wouldn't have it any other way!

Holloway now 4/9 with Paddy Power! That's awfully short... :clap2:

Wrong. Our budget is the same as Leeds and the chairmen have said we will strengthen in January if we are still the promotion mix. Just because we wouldn't match Bolton's 500k wage a year doesn't mean we pay 'peanuts', Freedman first contract was based on the fact that Palace was his first job as a No.1

Actions speak louder than words old chap. We were constantly told how loyal and Palace through and through Dougie was. Surely a new contract based on his getting you up to 4th with a wage increase and a promise of ambition would have been enough for him to rebuff Bolton. Either Parrish didn't actually rate Freedman or you can't compete with most clubs in this division financially. There simply is no other conclusion that can be drawn.

Or to put it another way either Dougie was lying when he said the job was only half done or CPFC2010 are lying to you all right now.

Clearly Dougie was lying.

To suggest that we can't compete with most in this division is ridiculous. We spent over a million pounds in the summer, which is more than most, and our wage bill is the same as Leeds'.

Shameful for a Club that still morally owes millions to others.

Really?

Here's what Dougie told the Croydon Advertiser afterwards

'It's not about a lucrative new contract, I've got four kids and it's a little bit about the way I've been treated and a little bit of a challenge that I think I can do"

And

"he said to me 'Bolton have come in for you - what do you want to do?' And my response was along the lines of 'Steve, I can't answer that because I've got six months left, so what would you like me to do? He said 'I can't stop you going' but obviously he can, he can say no."

You're stating categorically those are lies?

Yes - Dougie knows full well that Steve can't stop him going. If Dougie wanted to leave, he could just resign and then we'd get nothing in compensation. Also, the odds for Dougie moving to Bolton became extremely short a day or two before there was any official contact with the club. After he was granted permission to speak, the deal was done far too quickly for it to have all been legitimate. Dougie was tapped up by Bolton and left for more money.

Holloway is now 1/4 at Sky Bet!

Why on earth would Holloway want to ruin his reputation and career by going to Smellhurst ?

palace fans admitting that dougie went BOLTON for money and then trying to claim what an attractive proposition they are.....

Don't get your point? We wouldn't pay 500k to him and I doubt many teams in this league would, his record is average. Bolton have more money than most due to parachute payments.

Dougie can now cherry pick who he wants at Bolton in January , how many Palace players will jump ship ?

Because he wants out at Blackpool? May still not be cheap enough for Palace :D

I thought he would rather cut his balls off with a rusty penknife than suffer the humiliation of landing up in SE25

Depends where the two teams are in the league, how much they are offered, and basically "whats in it for them" but then thats all footballers / managers and TBH all of us!!

So we can expect Parrish to sue for libel and Bolton to be reported for an illegal approach any time now then?
