Chants that you regret

Years ago I went to Boundary Park with family and some friends to watch us against Oldham (naturally it was freezing cold), it wasn't long after we'd all moved up to Yorkshire so would have been early 80 - mid 80's.

We took the lead early on and all began chanting 'Andy Ritchie - Brighton reject' over and over again... Long story short, he scored 2, they won the match, he made sure we knew he'd heard the chants!

I remember as a lad of about 14 going to Hastings United v Bath City, a particularly nasty encounter. I, at the back of the stand shouted at the top of my voice "DIRTY BATH" to which all the fans around me collapsed into fits of laughter, leaving me very red faced.

Elland Road when we lost 3-1 a couple of years back. Some people towards the back of the stand chanting about Istanbul.

Absolute Wankers.

We want Falmer
and we want Falmer
We want Falmer
and we want Falmer
We want Falmer
and we want Falmer

We are the Falmer wanters...

Sung once at Wycombe - and never again, for some reason.

You''ve missed the laughter at the end and the slight pauses in 'We are the Falmer wanters'

Not a chant as such, but I do regret mocking Andy Johnson and giving him and Palace fans the wanker sign after he put the ball in the net about five minutes into the 5-0 game.

8-0 wouldn't have flattered them that day. :nono:

Ah yes...but it was the inspiration for my retort of "With their consent" at the Peterborough game last season - that game being the first game after the Albion youth team players had been arrested. It wasn't PC and perhaps in bad taste but I thought there was an ironic charm to it. I accept that others might not agree.

They kept it to five after your five fingered salute, natch.

This, without a doubt, we went up there so bouyant and it all ended so painfully.

I always thought the "loadsmoney" was funny when it started but then became very cringeworthy

I was in the middle of it when it started, I was disgusted we were singing it to be honest

Made even worse when a couple about 10 rows down, must of been Leeds fans were crying and screaming for us to stop, so must of been a parent, and they just laughed and carried on....my opinion of some very close friends changed that day

On a personal level, many many years ago at Burnley (I think) I remember shouting at a group of opposition fans: "Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!" ....... and they did.

It's very unbecoming to attempt to brag especially when you try and disguise the bragging with your last line.
